I'm honestly amazed there aren't custom co-op servers for a small number of players, considering how easy it is to create your own scenarios. And when I find custom scenarios in the workshop, they just crash once launched. I'm just going to start making scenarios myself and find people to play them with me. Feel free to add me as a friend if you're interested in playing some co-op missions.
This is exactly what i have been hoping for a very long time that someone will port over Domination and or Evolution.
One of the things i love the most about those game modes is the fact that because you fought against the AI, you could play solo as well as coop. I had some of the best gaming times in all my years soloing on empty Evolution and Domination servers.
There's almost always available transport vehicles to take or build
Pve is played allot yes ussually with lower numbers each server i have 2 i play on both 32 player count
Yeah, one of the things I liked was, unlike the more organized co-op server/group I used to play with in ARMA 2, you didn't have to spend an hour slotting people in and trying to convince people to be a squad lead, and then another hour getting a plan set up that 80% of the time ended up being 'let's camp on a hill with our scoped rifles and shoot at the enemies' unless it was a WAC mission in which case people dropped out because they couldn't put a scope on their rifle and enemies would actually call mortar strikes on you if you sat around on a hill for 30 minutes.
Dom/Evo basically let you do whatever, and if you felt like being social you could team up with people but you weren't really forced to. Most of the time I spent was clearing Paraiso, Cayo, Dolores, Ortego, and occasionally Corazol as a lone infantryman. If I'm not mistaken the ARMA 3 version is Invade & Annex? Haven't looked into it much but that seems to be the case.
Antistasi always looked neat to me on paper but I haven't had much opportunity to try it. I did find a community playing it in ARMA 3 but I've been distracted by other games. Maybe I'll just stick with that for now whenever my ARMA craving returns.
Oh man it's such an interesting gamemode. I personally always played it in singleplayer, so I could play it at my own pace without missing anything, It offers quite a lot and it's so, so immersive and unique, a really well developed gamemode that is still being actively updated. I'm aware that Antistasi Ultimate (no idea about other variations) won't be a thing on Reforger, but it for sure would eventually come for ArmA 4. I would recommend trying it out, seeing for yourself if it's something you are interested in.
