Yes! In fact, can't think of anything they can't see through, especially at ridiculously long distances.
Still, some great things about Reforger. The graphics are fantastic.

That's not true. You can easily sneak past them, even if you have already been spotted you can disengage and flank around to find them looking for you in the last spot they saw you. They can't really see through bushes or houses. But they suppress and fire at the location they think you are, hence why some people get shot through bushes or windows easily. Only thing I will say is their night vision is questionable, sometimes they are blind in the dark like everyone else, other times they one shot you in pitch black.

I think it's important to remember that Reforgers A.I is still in development, you can't really call them a step backwards when they aren't even really finished, they still lack some basic features because they haven't been implemented yet. Even then I would argue they are now better than Arma3's A.i since the last update. They suppress, split up the group to flank, take cover behind objects, garrison buildings, dynamically man static weapons, look for you if they lose track of you, dynamically look around and patrol when idle, react and investigate distant gunfire (often how people get shot from behind), and also pop smoke for cover when healing wounded squad mates.

I play a tonne of PvP/PvE, and sometimes I will admit the A.I can fool you for another player. Other times they are a turkey shoot.

fact. First time id play solo combat ops i tought the same than first posters, but by continue playing and switching between Reforger and 3. Ive noticed some really cool behaviors on AI mechs in reforger, they still sometimes insanely OP and other time stupid. But they are really better than Arma 3 AI, and im really hyped to see how they worked on AI squad, to finally play how i like to play Arma. ALONE.

Actually the main problem IMO on Reforger is principally the fact they dont learn from Arma 3's modders who brings the most important feature of actual Arma 3 MP.

It was playing conflict that did it for me, still being in a more cautious PvP mindset, I was surprised by things I saw the FIA npcs doing, straffing me around corners, pinning me down behind cover and throwing grenades, even things like walking straight past me as I hid in a bush, normally that would only work on a player.

But playing combat ops with a random I also saw some cool stuff. We ambushed an enemy base from the tree line and they couldn't find us hiding in the bushes at night, they scattered, hid behind cover, and were looking for us with binos. But the thing that was really cool is they pushed around and started coming up our tree line from the side, clearly knowing the direction the shots where from, but not our exactly locations, they got the drop on my squad mate, and still I managed to ambush them because they didn't know exactly where I was.

I don't know what the first two comments are suggesting but that's completly false, AI is much better then Arma 3, they flank you, they are not aware of you all the time, they are moving inside housings and they will get even better with the update dropping on experimental next week

yes, in fact since the new update they actually track you through the walls before they have seen you.

Thats for Arma 3. In Reforger (A different game) they spot you through thick vegetation and bushes.
Andy Mil Aug 11, 2024 @ 11:11pm
They can through the grass (When on prone or in wheat field. They does spot me and trying to shoot through) but not the bush tho they will try to suppress you if you shot one of their guy and that guy didnt die and also they randomly sometime will try to suppress you from 400m away when you just fighting random guy at ur place then that guy over 400 will shoot at your place and their tracer literally flying all over ur head. I have try to shoot back with M249 but not sure I got them or not but for sure they random shooting hit me once even I on prone. This happen rarely when you let them keep shooting at you. It like sometime one of they guy will able to spot you and his not even tell to his team about your position to suppressing fire but instead he do the shooting and it hit you too and u not even know where shot come from. Dark time tho u have to be quite close but for sure they will spot you first before u able to make out that a person like beside you.

The AI do not see through everything. I use bushes, lay in grass (not sure if it helps but do it anyway), partial obstructions like a crumbled wall and other objects to conceal myself. Reducing speed with mouse wheel and crouch work great for sneaking up on, and even past them.

They will lay down suppressive fire at a location from where you fired or were spotted. In that case you can snake and then relocate. They may continue to lay down suppressive fire at that last known location but if you remain out of sight, you can relocate. I do this often and flank them.

When you get incapacitated, an enemy AI can be within feet of you and as long as he is facing away, I have been able to roll over, select pistol (since main firearm was dropped) and take the AI out.

For the most part I would be completely satisfied with AI if they stayed just like they are when it comes to engagements against them. They still need to make enemy AI recap bases in conflict.

It's the same as Arma 3, it cannot see through tree leaves and bushes, those can reliably be used to hide in / behind if you are undetected but it is NOT fool proof, once detected, the AI will shoot through it but not accurately unless they saw you moving behind it and thus can track your possible movement ... the more AI shooting at the same general area the less 'inaccurate' it will be to you by sheer volume of fire.

But grass as always does nothing for you.

You are at a disadvantage to the AI in the above scenario's and various other permutations of the same problem, avoid fighting the AI when you are less than 100 meters away when the terrain is like this if possible ... and obviously that is easier said than done.
