Distant Shadows advantage
Having distant shadows on anything lower than ULTRA will make terrain flat and lifeless depending on the distance, especially on NONE - making it easier to spot enemies on any distance, not just far away.

We have to start punishing people that use low graphics on all games just to have an advantage, we are forced to tone down graphics to not be at a massive disadvantage: grass draw distance, HBAO, etc.. we are not using the game's full capabilities.

"rich boi, we don't all have RTX 4090's here, I barely hit 30 fps" - I also don't have a RTX 4090, I use it on LOW settings. Why can't it be the other way around? Why can't YOU not see me from 200 meters away and I can while you are able run the game ?

"pay to win game" - YOU paid €30 for the game and I paid the same for it, do not force other's to use what your "2015 computer" can handle.

POSSIBLE FIXES: distant bluriness; distant darkness; Fog; Distortion; Haze; (that increase FPS)
Forced Draw distance limit when using low graphics on settings that affect distant changes;
Another thing that makes visibility worse than higher graphics while also giving more FPS;

Because that's the low graphics users issue - running the game. Right?

LOL. shadows are next to meaningless in video games. they look great sure, really add to the environment. but also tank performance on most machines. shadows are demanding. turning them off in ANY competitive setting is the right move to make, unless you want to use them (sometimes they can be helpful but rarely necessary) also ur talking about distance blur and bloom which are also features that are demanding and ugly and usually able to be turned off.

anyways, arma 3 everything maxxed, you can still see people from 1000+ meters out clear as day if you look hard enough. it has nothing to do with your trash ass settings LMFAO. what a maroon

"shadows are next to meaningless to video games"; "also tank perfomance on most machines"; "also your talking about distance blur and bloom which are demanding and ugly"

Ok, you insulted me and did not get a single word.
You absolute ♥♥♥♥, shadows are not meaningless, look what CS2 did, turning them off now puts you at a massive disadvantage. Yes it does tank perfomance on most machines and thats why I'm proposing a way to make people that turn them off, mostly just to have an advantage, to be at an disadvantage, that's the whole point of this discussion..
And I'm talking about fixes that increase FPS while putting the user at a disadvantage forcing him to use higher settings (even when he has RTX 4090 and is a sweaty gamer).

Arma 3 is an old game, this is new gen, we have to start making things right. Also arma 3 had a thing that makes the terrain elevated on longer distances when put on low and it kind of simulated grass concealment, which forced people to use high or ultra and it worked.

Turning down render scale makes everything look blury and gives me 200+ FPS, is that not possible to be implemented on longer distances only? Ideas I'm trying to come up to make the game balanced for every user. what a maroon you are :steamfacepalm:

No 1 is engaging at that range let alone standing still long enough to get shot, Not sure how it's an issue.

mainly not everyone has a monster of pc to move distant shadows then the following happens the game has to be the most accessible for everyone and the company will be able to put that option that remove the distant shadows to the same as the meters of vision and other low and very low options if the graphics engine is too demanding there is a remedy disable graphics options and period

Same applies for 100m

Then period it is that people will use none-low graphics just to have an advantage, why bother making graphics, well since we're here remove trees and clouds too it will increase FPS, because that's what people want, right?
