Do AI run themselves in single player mode?

I'm playing in SP and I realized that the commander of my team doesn't issue out orders to the troops. It's just me attacking. I had to take a base in the woods near a military base all by myself which was too easy. I destroyed 2 road blocks and ran over 2 patrol groups with my supply truck. I even ran over 3 defenders at the forest base and then got out and gun down the other 4 down with ez. When does the AI commander start operations and sends out troops and convoys???

So the AI commanders don't send troops to attack and capture?

Its easy. The enemy AI misses most of their shots and some of their troops act like thay don't hear gun exchange between me and their troops behind them.

You're lucky then, most of the time they will spot you from over 500m and 6 guys will be firing at you when they look like ants.
