How to give commands to bots

I'm playing single player and would like to command the bots to take bases

press Y, chose Group and place waypoints

as a player u cant (thats not in the game yet) as a gamemaster u can do what Starleyve said but press and HOLD Y

~, then go closer to bot, recruit, and then you can command with ~

Your AI Squad can capture a base. We found this out by accident when attacking a base but we held back and noticed the squad moved to the base and captured. You could command them and send them to a base that is visible with the move to command. I'm not sure if you can do this from the map view and have them go to a base that is a significant distance. Will try next session.
