There really weren't any attachments for ordinary soldiers in that period. Check out pictures from Invasion of Panama. It's mostly iron sights era, unless you purchased guns with integrated scopes like AUG. Germany introduced scopes around '95 with their G36 and that was considered revolutionary back then. USA did another revolution in early 2000s with ACOGs. Russia is still struggling to do the same with their Ratnik programme. We should see some scopes for special forces if they add such class one day.

So, south-east Asia involving (modern era) NATO/CSAT is my bet for Arma 4 ... . Like I write, before, ARMA Reforger (with the future updates) will statisfied our tastes for the cold war era ... .
