Would prefer to keep it modern so we can see more advanced features for Drones, Planes and Helicopters. Bringing it back to the cold war will likely downgrade much of the progress they already made with Arma 3 to keep it to the "Standard of the Era". Would rather see mods recreate the Cold War or a DLC.

It's a shame that it is in really late coldwar setting and you have no attachments on weapons whatsoever but I guess attachment system is yet to be implemented and it is why. But if they added more vehicles, weapon attachments I can only say YES.

There really weren't any attachments for ordinary soldiers in that period. Check out pictures from Invasion of Panama. It's mostly iron sights era, unless you purchased guns with integrated scopes like AUG. Germany introduced scopes around '95 with their G36 and that was considered revolutionary back then. USA did another revolution in early 2000s with ACOGs. Russia is still struggling to do the same with their Ratnik programme. We should see some scopes for special forces if they add such class one day.

nope . not a good idea at all . You have that now and this will be extended for you anyways . Also ... what is this it should "stay in this era" thing ??? In Arma 3 we had several eras ... Cold War , Vietnam war , Modern etc ... also there is mods so u could play Star Wars or Warhammer whatever . If you are not a TROLL then you clearly didnt play any of those and you are wasting your time with this nonsense . If arma 4 will be modern era u will still get mods to play Cold War so... pretty much useless topic . Not everyone likes this era so dont try to force your opinion on others or on a full game ...

Why make Arma 4 cold war? Reforger is cold war. This game will get expanded upon. I'm sure modes, missions, maps, plus more will be added to this. Putting a game in a certain time period completely limits it to what was in the time. I think battlefield 1 and 5 are a good examples to what could happen, fun for a little bit, then people get bored and move on.

Just saw a "short" ... , very short announce about ArmA 4 and the background was water ... .
So, south-east Asia involving (modern era) NATO/CSAT is my bet for Arma 4 ... . Like I write, before, ARMA Reforger (with the future updates) will statisfied our tastes for the cold war era ... .
