Denuvo needs to go
Annoying this is another game where they slapped DRM on it. People should not buy games with Denuvo; they should wait until it's removed.

Square Enix are the geniuses that put Denuvo on a 100% free game, they're certainly not going to remove it here.

without denuvo they would have to set acceptable price, coz wast of ppl would sail the seas. I will "play" this game on youtube as Until Dawn (not fan horror games, but fan of horror movies), moreover I don't like where the original LIS story legacy is going.

Also first they recast voice overs in past, and now they recast whole main character, but overdubbing it with original voice lol... I am too old for this sht

Instead they lose sales to people like myself - I haven't even played Captain Spirit yet since it still had Denuvo last time I checked (which was a while ago).

its literally free tho so why should it matter if theres Denuvo included. i dont see it being a issue if its a free game but i do agree and i am against it being in paid singleplayer games -_-

People have weird notions about what Denuvo actual does and incorrectly thing it's malware. Rather than just being something bundled into the exe file that delays the start up a bit as it checks to see if you're authorized to play it.

honestly i bet the people that are against it have already played games that had it included and didnt even know about it. also bet those people have beefy computers anyway so it wouldnt even make a difference if you lose a few frames because of it.

It's certainly not there for the player's benefit. People should avoid software that comes with unwelcome additions like this.

I don't get why Denuvo is not removed once game is cracked, no reason for that anymore... and the reason for Denuvo in free game game like Cpt. Spirit is?

I mean, a lot of things aren't for the player's benfit. Steam's DRM isn't either, but almost no one rails on it. What people 'should' do is decide if playing the game is worth it to them or not.

Mainly because their shareholders push it on them. It's sometimes said that the TURE customers of these big companies are the shareholders, not the consumers of their product. Plus they would never actually admit to things getting cracked.
(Also note that Denuvo is basically never cracked these days. And even in the past couple years when stuff was getting cracked, not all games were. If you see anything somewhat recent with a pirated version it's likely a version that never had Denuvo in the first place)

Plausibly it has something to do with being able to use it to crack other games.

people are against Denuvo because its difficult/impossible to crack and they cant just pirate the game when it releases, its like hard coded into it. so no there is no simple way to remove it. also its known to hurt game performance.

And because it requires you to go online periodically in order to continue being able to play your single-player offline game.

This is nonsense. When denuvo is removed from games I want to play, I buy them. I don't pirate them; if I were keen to do that I wouldn't wait.

well the only ones who can remove the denuvo are the devs themselves but that rarely happens

It actually almost always happens eventually.

Public pressure can help. That's what's going on here.
