Anyone having issues with the game crashing immediately? Can't get past selecting 'New Game'.

the same exact thing keeps happening to me same error fail code too. I've researched and researched numerous videos and read so many articles on what the problem could be and so far no luck i have uninstalled the game and still yet no luck im starting to think it is has to do with a technical issue witch is very frustrating and disappointing i was very excited for this game and pe-ordered it months in advance but with issues im facing im about to ask for a refund. if anyone can help pls Lmk!

This issue is most likely related to your CPU. I had an error that looked like this mentioning something about Compressing Shaders. Any 13 and 14 gen Intel CPU's have a known issue. This issue comes up with games using Unreal Engine 5. I've had this game crash on me and since then other UE5 games are also crashing. From what I can tell the games specifically using Oodle in UE5 have this issue.

Only fix for it seems to be doing the latest BIOS update for your motherboard and if that doesn't work, getting your current CPU switched out for a different one that has the latest BIOS on it (because the damage to your current CPU could already be messed up enough that a BIOS on it won't change anything).

I hate that they are essentially forcing you to buy a new computer or upgrade it just to play the game. I can’t afford that.

I’m having the same problem and I even contacted them, I tried everything, deleted steam and the game, updated my drivers etc, and I also got a new pc with a bit high quality and still, I was so excited to play but it wasn’t what i thought it would be, hopefully they can fix the problem or helps us. And I also get the first error only, like when I bought it at first it was fine but I couldn’t play because I had something to do so I closed normally and now it won’t work it just stays on the black screen with the company name and the background music

Square Enix m'a proposé cette solution qui pour moi n'a pas fonctionné !

Nous vous conseillons d'essayer un démarrage sélectif de votre ordinateur avant de lancer le jeu :

- Appuyez sur les touches Windows + R.
- Entrez « MSCONFIG » puis appuyez sur « OK ».
- Ceci ouvrira la fenêtre de la « Configuration du système »
- Cliquez sur l'onglet « Services »
- Dans l'onglet « Général »
- Cliquez sur « Démarrage sélectif »
- Décochez la case « Charger les éléments de démarrage »
- Dans l'onglet « Services »
- En bas à gauche, cochez la case « Masquer tous les Services Microsoft »
- Cliquez sur le bouton « Désactiver tout »
- Cliquez sur le bouton « Appliquer »
- Cliquez sur le bouton « OK »
- Redémarrez votre ordinateur

Ces étapes empêcheront le chargement des logiciels supplémentaires lorsque Windows démarre. Ceci permet de vérifier si un autre programme sur votre PC n'est pas la cause du problème.
Pour revenir à un démarrage normal de votre ordinateur, suivez à nouveau les étapes ci-dessus et, dans l'onglet Général, choisissez Démarrage normal, Appliquer et OK.

A friend googled and sayd that the starting parameter -d3d11 should be the fix. I can say so much, that it even while having a 4060, my framerate dropped in some scenes to 10-22 fps and totaly destroyed the immersion of beeing in a different world. And i still had the crash after the whole scene (talking to amanda until they open the door). AND with the parameter, some things looked like trash. After disabling it, and by the third attempt playing that scene, i finaly had no crash there. .. .. Hope my experience might help someone. Farewell.

I've spent hours trying to figure out how to do this today, including trying to debug the core dumps. Thankfully others have had this error in other games, so many thanks to "thunda" over here

I'm gonna lose my mind over it I swear. I've tried everything that's written in this thread, searched for hours on google, updated everything I can on my pc and still i can't get passed the loading screen without it crushing and getting this error message. I don't even wanna play the game really, I know it sucks, it's just that I've been so devoted to the games until now that i have to play this one as well. anyways, if anyone has any solution besides the ones that has already been suggested please lmk. Also I don't know why and if it has anything to do with this but when I do somehow get to the loading screen the entire background picture is all distorted and just different colors, idk it's weird. Anyways i really hope to get it fixed as soon as possible bc if not I'm gonna have to get a refund.
