I don't know if this is the case here but it solves this issue for some other games and it'll take literally few moments to check out, so I think it's worth giving a shot.
eww that's some kind of nasty bug then.
AV software can cause that kind of issue. What kind of program are you using? And did you try verifying the game files?
And last but not least, considering the absolutely disastrous state of the game right now I'm afraid there's a chance that this is some kind of an awful bug that requires a patch. But let's hope it's not.
C:\Users\David\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\LifeIsStrangeDoubleExposure\Steam\Saved is where mine are saved
It even works with one drive. However, if steam is put into OFFLINE mode, it breaks the game's ability to save
MAke sure you can see and access the save folder. IF you can't, something is wrong on your windows permissions. Go to Documents, then My Gamess, and then \LifeIsStrangeDoubleExposure\Steam\Saved
Make sure you can navigated into the saved folder
