No Denuvoo is not the problem here when it's well implemented (i mean without doing check every 5sec no stop)
The MAIN killer's performance is the SECOND slider for the definition render of light , shadows etc and other (as describes in the game)
You have the first slider witch refers in reality to the render scaling of the quality oof your image (egual of DSR from Nvidia)
The second slider (below your actual definition) is the OLY who DESTROYS clearly the performance
actually framerate is very good with an rtx 3090 FE by ex in Ulta everywhere just for testing purposes here, i know very well that Ultra is useless and doesn't scale aboe egual of console's settings)
In native 4k with Cinematic , v synch, motion blur disable, no AA (no need to)
BUT ! It's at 50% of the render light , ambiant occlusion etcIf you dare to push at say 0% yes it will kill your performance clearly. And at 100% it will be a slidershow (honestly)
Tested with my 9900K/32go ram/RTX 3090 FE (vrr on LG C1 OLED)
The problem of the game there it's a honestly...blurry for textures and well smearing when your second slider is at 50% (he picture is at 100% but the second slider is the performance killer's compared to)
70/80% is what you want for precise image and textures.
No problem for Denuvo , the real problem is the secpond slider who indeed kil the performance. Otherwise performance is very good (knowing it's UE5 not just UE4)
And wiothout using scaler yes it's more true (i don't say if i was at 1080p not even 60 fps on an rtx 3090 fe yes clearly but there it's ok)
You have to find the balance between second slider and smoothness, but yes it's possible and good. Denuvo had nothing to do otherwise i would have been struggling the first boot in the game (was in the 75/90 fps see bit more depending on the location and viewing's angle)
Hummm could be there is big differnece with highter end gpu but depend on you config. Juding your vram and depending on the game's ressources check your textures on quality
Akso UE is heavily dependant on ST perf on cpu, if you play in 1080p
On top of that, I don’t like the idea of DRM software constantly encrypting and decrypting things, wasting my computer’s resources (no matter how little). So, for me, it’s a matter of principle - I don’t buy games with Denuvo or similar DRM.
Pirates get to play a DRM free version, they literally save money and get the best working version
