It was already known that several of the Deck Nine writers do not like the Pricefield pairing and consider the "Bae" ending of Lis 1 the "evil ending".
I guess this just shows their bias. They wanted to make a post "Bay" game but were forced to acknowledge the "Bae" ending choice because of its popularity and out of spite crapped all over that pairing and damaged it to the max so they never have to bother with it again.
Thats honestly my impression from all the spoilers on the Reddit thread.
They systematically dismantled everything about that pair and dragged it into the mud as if to say " See?`you were STUPID to choose that ending!" .
I just consider the two Dontnod games as the canon and ignore the Deck Nine games. Their writing is subpar anyway compared to Dontnod.
