Why the ♥♥♥♥ did they turn LIS into a marvel movie

I will sneak in your post as it has spoiler in title and it's supposed as discussion about ending. Could anyone tell me whole story of a game in one sentence or in short paragraph full spoiler mode? I refunded the game and even skipping through lets play was boring I have no clue it was about.

END GAME SPOILERS

To make it short, Safi the girl Max is friends with also has powers, she can shapeshit into other people. She instigated the whole murder mystery to trigger Max powers again because she thinks people with powers are basically gods who should rule over the normal humans. At the end she asks Max to join her and the final choice of the game is for Max to accept/refuse. No matter what you choose Safi leaves to find other people with powers and bring them together for their "revolution". Then the game ends on a black splash screen with a "Max Caufield will return" like a bargin bin MCU movie. The end.
So basically nothing is resolved and gets punted down the street for a possible sequel game. [/spoilers]

Yeah, I had Marvel/X-Men vibes in the ending too. Not sure if I want to see a sequel going in that direction...

True. This series lost its way the second it became a "mainstream" full price franchise instead of a flawed but brilliant little indie game.

well it has milking potential, but not this way... LIS2 was straight hit into wall of nonsense, but BTS was nice dairy product, even I rolled my eyes how they managed the Rachel family story. We could've try to put everything in order once again with Max as the comics did, or to forget her completely and bringing different characters and games from the same world like True colors. It wasn't that bad and would've been better with different approach, no filler chapters and better storytelling. It just needs devs who love and get the LIS legacy and why it was good. Right (art)director, writers and relatable and likeable characters. But now it's too late, D9 killed the franchise. Lets see what Lost records will bring.

Im sad people dont see what hot garbage BtS was. it contributed absolutely nothing to the first game. It was fanservice slop devoid of any meaning. i prefered rachel to be this larger than life mystery character that doesn't appear. in game 1 you already learned everything you need to know about her

I wouldn't have minded the idea if it involved already established characters like Alex, or Sean and Daniel, but this is a really weird way to do it.
