Oh I agree with that. I'm saying that they had to change Max's powers in this one, either because of something story related that we know nothing about, or they did it in terms of not just having the same powers from LIS 1, or make it feel too repetitive.
I don't know, while there's many things I take issue with that are up in the air atm in regards to this game. Her time reversal powers are more neutral for me, if anything it falls more into the bigger category of wishing they'd just gone with a new character.
But, yeah, my general approach is to treat new Max as a new character who happens to have the same name and voice, a similar backstory, and a vaguely similar appearance.
Yeah that's what I don't like about it either. Seems like a rule change.
The more of the game I see the more I come away thinking its not even neutral (being able to swap out Max or a new protag with no effect); but that a new protag would be BETTER. I love Hannah and having her back, but there's so many issues with having Max return in this game as an MC. They could've had her as a side-character to be part of a new protag's journey, which would alleviate at least a portion of the issues; as well as an interesting potential angle if side-character Max found out about new protag having powers. Having a sort of mentor-ish aspect as Max would have the experience from LiS1 with her powers. Like I actually like what's been shown of the powers, just not for Max.
I'll take stagnation of the time powers over basically no power at all.
Oh yeah totally. Best thing to happen: a new power that actually does something gameplay wise. Been wanting this for years. Tell Me Why got the closest, but they just had to make the player not be able to use it to change outcomes or anything lol.
