I saw another short 8s vid on reddit (someone handing a LIS card to "Max"), that is totally different person or she spent whole those years since Chloe on heavy antidepressives and plastic surgery clinic, where they totally botched her. She looks like my young mom, a person that is totally different type of face than Max

She looks different but fine to me. Honestly, when I try to actually imagine right now how she would look as an older Max, I can't think of anything other than an LiS 1 Max but with wrinkles and eye bags. And I always thought the LiS face was a bit too stiff. Maybe that was due to the animations.

For all we know, they may have changed the face this time for allow for more expressive animations so that Max actually reacts appropriately to something happening. A lot of the more serious moments in LiS were undercut by the stiff animations that made it difficult to take the characters seriously. It's only because of their VAs acting that I could treat them as genuinely upset. And the tears flowing down their face.

I'm 28 (same age as Max then) I do look the same... though I'm more zombified and tired on work days than when it was just school time. So yeah, tired eyes wins

I think Max looks more in her early to mid 30's compared to her late twenties.

I look same like in my 20ties in my early 40ties, just less idiot vibe and more Momoa manly vibe as many men after growing up. And in my 15 I was very similar, just me, boyish young face. Tho not good example as avg Joe in my age or politician looks like as if my father, I was just lucky jizz. Still, even the girls bloom a lot, Max already had adult woman emotes throughout the game during some animations. Biggest change in most caucasian girls faces nowadays is 10-15 some are late bloomers, after that only the youth takes a ride. Good example is Grace Wanderwaal coz we all kinda know her stages, kid, teen, foxy, it's still there written in her face, and it was pretty clear what type of woman she will grow up to. She cannot change into Amanda Bynes like Max :D

I decided to take a look at some of the photos of Max from the first game, and I think the reason she seems to look a lot different is that her previous hairstyle with bangs basically covered up her forehead. This new look has her hair mostly down on the sides. So we can now see her forehead, and who knows, maybe it was always that long or big? Certainly one's face changes a bit once you get holder, or at least your hairstyle starts to reveal more of your head as you age. I know with my hairline receding, my forehead now looks bigger. She still has the same eye color, and upon closer inspection of better looking photos of LiS: DE Max, she actually does still have her freckles.

The new engine just makes it hard to see them because the current videos and photos don't really focus on them. My guess is, they wanted to make her look older, and to that extent, elongated her face a bit as well because she's supposed to be an adult photography teacher at this point, so you don't want people thinking she's still a teenager. I mean, Safi seems to have some wrinkles around her mouth and forehead, to indicate aging, so they're obviously going all in on the characters being full-on adults, to completely separate them from any notion of still being a kid. I'm just gonna be that person who has to point out that as people age, almost everyone think they look the same as they did at 27 when they were 18 - and truly believe that, but trust me when your 18, a 27 year old looks a LOT older than you.

Why? Because collagen production typically begins to decline in a person’s mid-20s and can result in the skin becoming less firm and prone to sagging. Health and diet also play a big part. I think the big thing throwing people are her hair change though. They needed to update her model regardless, if they did nothing she'd just look the same like she never aged and that would be more unrealistic.

Anyway Max looks amazing and very pretty, shes aged very well.

Its been ages since I last lurked in the LiS subreddit, but that post really shows that her current model is not as different as some folks fear it is.
