There's going to be a physical collector's edition too on the Square Enix Store tomorrow fyi. It doesn't include the game just an artbook, vinyl soundtrack, artcards and replica pin.

Looks like it's just costumes for the most part?
I'll grab the standard and then see what that 'Cat content' is/hope that's a standalone DLC.

you can play episode 1 and 2 two weeks before game release with the ultimate edition. and yes plus costumes and the cat content.

Yeah that sort of gating is kind of icky.

In this case however I think I'll 100% be busy with Metaphor Refantazio "2 weeks" earlier than October 30th, so I'm more than happy waiting for the standard edition release date :P

The comics were great, even the Alex/Steph ones going on now.

And game reviewers are poor when it comes to reviewing the series.
