Help Banishing Demon Jefferson Street

My game is glitched it give me the first questions for the demon while banishing I click the right option and then i'm stuck it wont give me a prompt for the second or third question??!!! Any Known solutions don't really want to restart???

It's not a glitch. You need to use your scroll. As Oggie said, I would join the discord.

Also, the process is outlined in the tutorial also.

Have you continued to "use" the scroll after each question (by default keyboard I believe it's F). You answer question, hit the use key, answer next question ... etc.

I'm having a similar issue. I started the exorcism on Jefferson without the scroll on me, so I left, got it, went back, started the exorcism again (relic and salt circle in place, prayer and fire going), THEN went with the scroll to collect the runes. Once I collected all 4, nothing happened. I of course went back to the exorcism circle with it and still nothing. I tried using the scroll, burning more Palo Santo, standing in the fire, leaving the scroll and all my equipment to burn in the damn circle - nothing. No prompts.

So I tried multiple times. Shut the game down and back up. The only change is that my scroll constantly glows now, even at the museum. There are no runes to collect when I retry the exorcism. I can still get the relic, put down the salt circle, do the prayer, have the flames come up after calling out the red horse - every time, but then... nothing. Even when I take out the glowing scroll... still nothing. :-/

Have I missed something?! I wanna kick this demon out so bad for jump scaring me and making Conrad pass out!

It sounds like your exorcism went out of order a bit and maybe that is why it got muddled.

The Exorcism in short

The Exorcism has several steps you need, before you're able to banish the demon from the map. I'll write in this part here, how you'll get the exorcism done and in the next part, you can see how the single steps are turning out for each demon.


1. Find the relic in the map
2. Put the relic in your inventory
3. Equip the scroll for the demon you want to exorcise
4. Gather the runes you require, to figure out a demon's true name
5. Walk through the area, which is the demon's active area OR which is lore relevant for it
6. You'll find glowing letters on the ground (they also give audio-clues → the ghostly whispers), walk to them and your scroll will start to glow in parts (the rune you gathered and the letters which are important to figure out a demon's true name)
7. When you got the name from the demon (After you found all 4 runes, you can puzzle it together) light your smudge stick
8. Walk through the location and find the exorcism spot
9. If your smudge burns more, put the relic down
10. Conrad will say a prayer, when he's done, put the salt down with the key you're using to drop items (Standard it's V)
11. Step a bit back!
12. Switch back to your scroll
13. The exorcism will start. As soon as an animation or a step is done, press the 2nd action key (e standard) and answer the question. You need to answer 4 questions, before the demon is exorcised!
14. After the demon is gone and the salt-circle is despawned, the demon is successfully exorcised!

This is cut from Eir-Lorien's guide. It's very accurate. Hopefully these steps help you. You have to use the scroll during the exorcism and answer the questions correctly or the demon breaks free and has a nibble.

OMG!!!! IT WORKED!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I don't think I've pressed the E key ONCE while playing this game for 60+ hours! That was the *ahem* KEY to getting the exorcism going. I'm forever grateful! (edit: I forgot I use E for evp sessions. Just ignore me, I'm tired. lol)

One minor thing to add : you only have to get the runes once.

I didn't realize you needed to release other ghosts first, so I grabbed the scroll, and then walked around Jefferson finding the runes, then spent 20 minutes running all over jefferson with the smudge in my hand before I decided to look it up, and realized i couldn't get rid of the demon yet since the DaFoes were still in the house.

On a later visit when I was actually ready to dismiss the demon (got rid of all the other ghosts), the scroll "wasn't working" to find the runes - because I'd already found them on the previous run and could just go straight to shooing the demon away.
