WTF? How do you play this game?
Hey all,
How do you actually win in this game?
The opponent has triple my HP, and 7 million invincible cards when I deal 1dmg every 57328426742 turns...

Like what?

I read the instructions, but, man... I feel like this is unwinnable.

Depends on who you are playing and what outfit/deck. For example Deathgrip wins through an alt win condition and you can use cards to speed up such win condition while Ashka wins by saving up so much mana and winning through the card that drains her mana by x, deal that much x damage to target. You'll have to play around either each deck and get an idea of the win gimmick, if any.

While the enemy hp amounts seem unfair, as long as you keep board presence by destroying problematic minions and glyphs, it's hardly an issue. You can gain hp back fairly easily and you can play shield cards to further increase your bulk.

Thanks for the reply... I must just suck at this game... I have been playing for quite a while, I just dont get it.
The opponent has just too much hp... and I don't deal enough dmg to get rid of minions.
Dunno how you can win... I wish there was a "noob mode" where thw op has a fair amount of hp and you can actually win.

it took me a I think almost 3 hours until I got my first win, but since then it has been going much easier, it just takes some getting used to once you know optimal strategies and order for moves!

The specific strategy varies depending on the character, but in general it's important to discard anything in your hand you can't/don't want to use, since it stays in your hand, meaning you draw less cards next turn and therefore have less momentum.
It's REALLY important to cycle those extra cards out if you're playing lilith's base deck, since you're limited by energy pretty hard early on.

For you and other players struggling to strategise, I'm writing strategy on how to win. Its in Chapter 8.0 over at the Guides section https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2970439198

I can waltz all over top covenant MT L20StS. The opponents in this game seem hugely overtuned. At least give characters an early fight that's easier to help learn the mechanics. Also, my entire first fight I had no idea it was possible to discard cards (I tried!)

A trash can icon would help make it clear.

We have been working on the discard visibility, there is text that appears to indicate you can discard when you drag a card but it needs some improvements.

The main thing we need is a tutorial level that explains all the main points of the game which is on the road map for v1.1

this would seem okay if characters didnt out right counter your character. i played the fairy 3 games in a row and lost to the first boss because they had a card(s) that drained my magic, the fairy only uses magic.

as for keeping board presence that is easier said then done when the boss can fill the board with minions by turn 3. i understand they want it to be a challenge but theres a challenge and then there is plain unwinnable. it shouldnt come down to luck, it should be skill.

Sometimes that's how it is. You'll play as someone whose main source of attacks comes from mana and get paired against someone who is anti-mana or play a rush/aggro deck to only be countered by a health regen/shield gain opponent. I like the challenge of facing down a stronger opponent and being able to barely win or win through some other gimmick of the deck, but that's the point I feel like. You won't always win your first or even few runs. You won't get the same opponents deck each run, but if you do its always another chance to do better and be able to beat it and claim your reward and get revenge :mistress: .

You can always try another character or change outfits/decks and try your luck with that problematic deck if you happen to get paired with it again.

I think the fairy's base deck is really bad or just luck dependent since your only real mana gain is from the pixies you get from her fountain permanent, and it spams your deck with them, so you either get lucky and pull the one card that actually uses all that mana or you get steamrolled. Her card control is just terrible since she doesn't get any removal or good card draw in the deck either.
I tried a run with one of her alternates and it was way easier, won first try, didn't have problems with mana burning enemies either. A lot of people complaining about difficulty probably played this dumb fairy first and got rolled because she sucks.

Agreed she is underpowered and is the first to have a rebalance in an update hopefully later today along with bug fixes
