I tried the Necromancer and their resurrection spells are too limited to keep your skeleton units effective and they don't work on Wights or Cavalry. Units in general have poor skill values so they don't perform well against just about anything in melee and their ranged options are very limited.
Never running away is really powerful.
The first campaign is a glorified tutorial.
The biggest issue is sustained attrition and forced replenishing gradually wearing them down and choking their income as stated above. With their low unit quality it wouldn't be unreasonable to just give them a free automatic replenishment after every battle.
Their spells to restore lost models could also be stronger considering you only get 2 casts per battle and Raise dead is limited to some of the worst units in the game.
Raise Dead should be 2d3+3 models of zombies/skeletons.
Reanimate should be 1d3+3
Wights could use something to make them stand out. Maybe give them Wight Blades - armor saves against Wight Blades are never better than 4+. Right now a souped up hero, cav charge with lances, or your -3 defense spell are the only effective way to deal with high defense units with their 2+ saves that somehow succeed 95% of the time. This would give them more options in the campaign where you're not guaranteed to get Dread Knights or power upgrades on your hero, and charges/spells only last for the first round.
They could have at least one strenght... but staying in the fight is uselesss if ennemies kill 10 squelly /zombie per turn and you struggle to deal more than 1-2 damages per turn. then take extra attrition...
basic squelly being -1 skill power def and movement
also why are wolves unit cav sized but have basic unarmed human stats block?
wight guard and vampire cav are good the rest is very bad... also no multy damages or very high power/defence unit do hurt the roster feel a bit like playing skaven with no special units like slave spam it work but damn it can feel horrible
It might also be interesting for zombies to refill casualties when they kill, that might give them a niche that isn't much, much better filled by spear skellies.
