The game is good, but the AI art means I won't even consider paying for the DLC
The games good, I mean it's clearly a rip of an existing idea but that's not a bad thing since it fills a small niche that most PC games haven't touched.
That said the use of entirely AI art assets is both mediocre and amoral af to support so... I won't.
Glad to see a game like this and it is/was fun but yeah definitely not supporting AI art with my $.

I can understand why they've used AI art. The game came out into EA a year ago, yet the majority of reviews are from the past 30 days. It's been a very niche, hidden game until recently. Hopefully the audience continues to grow and the developer will be able to pay someone to create art assets for them. But, with the base game being free, I'm not sure how possible that'll actually be.

I agree with your sentiment though. The game suffers from use of AI art, but at the same time I think it'd also suffer if it had no art at all.

I thought Steam was pretty rabid (rightfully) about taking down anything generated by AI? Did that change?

Yeah i feel it is holding the game back a bit, personally I would rather have bad art than AI art but playing the game I can see it does have a heart.

Considering the obviously small scale of the game, who cares?

Please dev dont listen to these absurd petitions. Improve the combat AI and dont focus on changing the art, it's good enough.

Nobody gives a crap about the devs using AI art, stop whinging.

I don't get the AI art whinging when it comes to smaller games like this, I know the main problem people seem to have is that AI takes money away from real artists which is true. But small games like this one wouldn't have the money in the first place to pay an artist so probably would never have made the game if AI art wasn't available to them.

Love the virtue signaling catch 22 logic. "Waah, features me no likey, me want costly features instead, but me no pay for it". Lemme guess, defund the police too? Same reasoning.

You people are adorable, how about you pay for a dlc or two and drop a NICE message with "I hope this will go toward paying for some real artwork, thanks for a great game" along with it.

I hope every game starts using AI to replace artists.

Can you explain how AI art is Amoral?

The way it is made? It is theft. It is a pop star sampling 100s of songs (other peoples work) to put an album together and wanting to get paid for the "work" of using other peoples work without their permission or compensation. The difference being that you can't track down who's art was stolen in this case.

If you meant immoral, by it's definition gaining at the unwilling expense of another is a fairly overt breach of morality.

It is understandable that a free game at this stage of development uses AI art. If and when people start paying for the game actual human art starts get phased in.

Please ignore the art whiners. The game is super fun ! I love it and we can see that's it's a work of passion!
LordZon Jul 2, 2024 @ 8:59am
You realize the game is free, right?
Salami Jul 2, 2024 @ 7:21pm
Theres 25 Bucks worth of DLC that also uses AI art, so no its not really free is it.
