Are you playing primarily the campaign or multiplayer?
I haven't really tried multiplayer, but I've played them more than any other faction in campaign and they are really good.
I haven't really done any multiplayer and haven't tried shortbows there, but you do get 15 of them for cheaper than 10 imperial archers. The Hex of Ruin trick should work well with that.
Goblin mobs are also surprisingly good, especially when buffed with Primal Fury. Rank bonus gets added to Discipline for break tests, so get 25-30 gobbos with 5-6 ranks and they can hold their ground quite effectively. If in campaign, it can be fun to get the Dark Gift (from a random event) on them to add +1 power and +1 attacks - with spears, that's 30+ attacks!
Trolls are a workhorse. Get them putrid stench (enemies re-roll successful hits) ASAP and greatweapons.
Bolt throwers start of garbage, but you get 2 of them if you pick them at the start, and by the time they are firing 5 shots, hitting on 4s and rerolling 1s, doing 2 wounds per hit, they are your snipers for troublesome units - especially good against skaven with all their 2 wound units (flamers, longrifles, alphas).
Basically, you can't go wrong with an all gobbo force :D
Orc units live and die on a successful charge. They do a lot of damage and need to break the opposition, or weaken them to the point that subsequent rounds will not see the enemy dishing out many hits.
Nice! I'm on my difficulty 7 goblin only* run. *trolls and giants allowed ;)
What do you loose? Why were you holding it back during the battle?
I think they were referring to the Skill stat rather than an active ability. Raise Dead is a great skill!
Well they said they were loosing something, which means to release, activate, utilize, etc., in this context.
I read their "loose" as a typo for "lose" - i.e. you crumble and lose the combat/match.
this typo is becoming the standard spelling of "lose", love it or hate it, its an evolution of the written language. who knows how we're gonna start spelling "loose", maybe "luice" like "juice"...
