Custom Game not working, HELP!!!

Can't join a frien's lobby in custom game, an he can't join mine. We enter eachother's lobby an then it exits us out

Usually caused by one of you not being online/visible in Steam!

hell i don't even know how to invite him there's no option, and trying directly from steam doesn't do anything...

I have yet to be able to get any custom games to work.

How do players find the game?

Also Having this issue, Will bring me into lobby, but wont show either profile or any options then it will kick me after about a minute.

My issue was that I had a dlc unlocker installed. Had to uninstall / disable it and the game worked.
