Can only take 5 party members instead of 6?

Hey guys,
Ive never played these games and just started.

The Formation Menu shows 6 slows (3 front, 3 back),
but the game will only let me assign 5 adventurers. Is this right?
Whenever im trying to pick my 6th one, the game wont let me move away
from the Confirm-Button...

yes you can only take 5 you can set it up to have 2 in front 3 in back or 3 in front 2 in back

Yes, party limit is 5 members for this series. While there are six slots, it basically just means you can have a 3 front and 2 back, or 2 back and 3 front, so no 1 Paladin Top builds or all front liner builds.

That 6th slot is for guests to fight alongside your party members.

I don't recall guest characters being in 1, that was a mechanic that got added in later IIRC.

if memory serves 1 of the ppl who worked on the game said the reason the limit is 5 is because having 6 slots would allow u to cover pretty much everything
