Was the medic rebalanced?
If the class was broken before, some of their assets seems kinda useless now... for example, Regen hitting one target, unless you have a Protector it's kinda useless. I'm pretty sure it had a party range instead of being a single target.

Also, does Immunize still work as overall damage reduction or only elemental damage?

Pretty sad about the nerfs, as much as I understand them, I think they went a bit too much into it. I'm currently using the medic as a frontline damager with low healing/supporting abilities lol.

There was some rebalancing done, yes. Personally, as someone who never even played the first game, I'm indifferent.

With one exception. Every guide I read out there talks about how worthless Healing Touch is, and so I ignored that skill for 90% of the game. Then I randomly read the description and it's freaking amazing. Would have saved me many, many hours. The point is that even if some things seem to have been nerfed, there were definitely some improvements included as part of the package.

Edit: Also, they didn't change Immunize. What needs to be understood about that skill is that its description was badly localized. It was always meant to do what it does.

Oh! So Immunize still works on overall damage reduction and not only elemental ones?

Yes. Not to belabor the point, but Immunize is widely understood to be the skill that "breaks" the game. Or you can think of it as the skill that lets you run with any party makeup you want, without worrying about whether it's not necessarily the best. (Then again, I suppose anyone playing on anything other than "Expert" already doesn't have to worry about that.)

Thanks a lot! I'm playing on expert, I'll try to not abuse that.

This is my first playthrough of the game at all, but reading skill strategies I'm not finding much different with the skills that were typically recommended. I've noticed a few hiccups in information and left to guess, though.
Troubadour's 'Relaxing' is now called 'Peace Ballad', for example. Doubt that they only changed a single name for the class, too.

I don't think Medic's regen healed multiple folks, based on the skill sim I'm using though.

Yeah, like some guides say to stay away from the skill that reduces encounters because "why would you want that", when in reality it makes resource dives SO MUCH NICER. So, point being, if you play however you want, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Some of those guides I believe make a point on main parties. For gathering parties or if you really want to resource dive, then yes those would be good uses. Or even speed running since those are massive time saves.

With the Healing Touch point though, that skill was outright buffed. It WAS bad in the original game, only healing up to 40% max HP and cost 10 SP. Now it's a 100% HP heal outside of battle at 3 SP and only costs 5 SP total to max out.

In general there weren't too many nerfs, though some exist. Most changes ended up being buffs though.

Can I say healing touch is a bit too strong now?! I'm using it and I nearly don't have to come back home ever! Aha

Medics are still entirely OP. You really don’t need regen.

If you run Immunize and Defender (which tbh is a bit overkill) Salve I is more than enough for healing. Add in the fact that Medics also get strong damage with their Atk Up and Caduceus and you’ve got a unit that can essentially do it all.

Maybe in the post game you’ll want to invest into a stronger heal but I easily beat the final boss with primarily Immunize, Atk+Caduceus and Salve I.
