Questions
In their later games, I used binds and ailments maybe excessively, always had a character dedicated to each of them in my parties, are they as useful back in these older titles? I noticed in EO1 it was near impossible to get them to land and the dark hunter died so often I just traded her in for the bard, dancer? (forget how to spell the class name lol) Used the buffs instead of debuffs, since they always land.

I just don't want to get going with another dark hunter and realise she's useless on top of being fragile in this one, may as well just bring the Ronin in that case, lol.

Also how useful is the protector, I notice it has no direct cover skill in these earlier titles, just a chance to take damage in place of a row(though the team wide elemental immunity still looks very desirable), (in Nexus for example mine sits in the back row and almost always takes hits for the sovereign(unless someone else will die without the cover))

I have not played the whole game yet so idk what uses whip Dark Hunter really have. But I believe bind chance seems worse than in the first game. However I found Climax which also is whip skill to be really op. With it you can kill many FOEs while they have about 50% hp in one hit.

A whip Dark Hunter is actually really good in this one! All thanks to one thing: their force skill. Dominate is probably the best force in the game as iirc its guaranteed and hardly any enemies are immune to binds. Plus, head binds are always good/

They can manage binds pretty easily on their own, but putting a few points into the gunner's and Hexer's bind skill (after you work on their better ones) can pair pretty well with whip DHs!
