What do you think the hardest boss is?

the stupid mantis shrimp, you go high to shoot him you get punched, you go low to avoid the punch, you get uppercutted, you go behind him to not get punched you get slammed, you dont position yourself far enough away from the haymaker ( push water attack idk) you touch the spikes, you get far enough from the spikes you get hit by the haymaker, sometimes the buoy doesnt work as the ammo lands on top of it, if you dont have ammo you have to skip a whole damage phase, it was genuinely one of the worst fights in the game that had no way to beat it without being unfairly hit

i dont think there is any hard boss in the game, but i would say mantis shrimp was a bit challenging at first but once you understand what to do its a piece of cake.

Mantis Shrimp for sure, it was the only one I struggled with. Probably had to try about 10 times.
Although a lot of it has to do with what weapons you happen to be carrying.

for me John Watson in the depths after i came up from the sea peoples storage room. i ragequit my game session for that night and had to play next evening :D couldn't strike the pitches very well..

Klaus, no doubt. Every other boss (including Mantis Shrimp and John Watson) I defeated on my first tries. (Mantis shrimp you just have to wait until it starts powering up its punch and then move up or down, the punch will swing wherever you were when it started charging. Then while it's mid-punch you can shoot its eyes.)

With Klaus you 100% need the sniper rifle. The first time I fought him I had the normal rifle and you just absolutely can't get anywhere near him at any time. And you basically NEED an extra oxygen tank and a scooter to get away from him, because he turns too quickly and your unassisted dash isn't quick enough. He two-shot kills you.

I had a lot of difficulty with the Mantis shrimp as well. No matter what I could not bring the punching bag up in time, I think they might have changed that since I beat him though.

The rest were mostly all pretty simple and straight forward. Klaus wasn't too difficult because they give you the weapon to kill him.

I think there are no hard bosses. I always play with tranq/net, so ive played vs every boss with only harpoon or lv 1 weapon that you can obtain in boss fights, and always won on my first attempt.

Except mantis. Right now is easy aswell, but before It was bugged and you were permastuck in the damaging wall and couldnt use the shield bc It didnt work

I beat everyone first try but close tie between Klaus and Shrimp.
Klaus fight popped up before I was arguably "ready" and then both times I forgot to swap out my tranq rifle for my damage rifle lol..

[Myth]

It was the Kronosaur for me. He has more base damage than the other bosses, significantly more health and has a couple of nasty abilities, one of which does a withering burst damage ranged attack which pretty much has to be avoided. Oh, and you need to pick up and learn how to use a new doofer (the launcher torn off the mini-sub) while the Kronosaur tries to turn Dave into pâté. Mildly frustrating at first, but good fun looking back on it.

Klaus killed me more times, than every other boss and game place combined.
But after learning the AI abuse for him, I could beat him and with my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ equipment.

Honestly, there are no difficult bosses in this game. They are all slow pattern recognition bosses.
I don't think there is a single boss that killed me more than 2 times. Most bosses I damage down with the level 3 rifle or the harpoon.
I do think the hermit crab boss was a ton of fun though. Everything else not really a problem.

Mantis Shrimp for sure, only boss that was vague in terms of mechanics. At least when I did it (before all the patches) It was not clear that you had to wait for him to do his 3 hit combo before you could hit the eyes, so I was swimming all around him trying to find a weakspot after hitting his eyes didnt do anything, and he didnt do his full 3 hit combo if you were too far away or made him to a different attack in the middle etc. Once it was clear that you could hide under his head without getting hit, it became very easy

I had a sniper that did 81 damage when I fought Klaus xD Pretty sure he died with 5-6 shots in quick succession, but I can see him being hard if you have to rely on your harpoon
