i try to be just outside of the attack range to not get hit, but still be in aggro range.
then i pre aim for the slow down and wait for it to attack.
I am trying to do that, but it seems to shoot right through it, if that makes sense, and explodes behind it somewhere. I've tried shooting towards the ground, straight across/in-line, slightly above, both sides, if possible...I'm not sure if it's actually me or not, at this point. I mean, you can only aim so many different ways. XD
The weirdest part is I'd done this once already without issue a few days ago. It's why I'm baffled now. I think I might just start this part over again, and see if it's still happening.
Thanks for your insight, yet again. :-)
Hi, you. :-)
Oh, my goodness, yes! When they're wedged in a rut between two ''walls'', there is just no getting the right angle with the limited aiming scope in this game (a slight point of contention; needs to be an extra 10-15 degrees both ways, imho; it just seems narrow, for some reason, and I pretty much misjudge that angle every time as I naturally want to go a bit wider *shrugs*). Luckily, I finally have enough (literal) breathing room, ha, that I can take a few hits in those cases, and just have to get in the trench with them.
So, to be clear, for future reference...you hit them when they do the 'false start', rather than when they actually jump out? I didn't know that was an option; might help me get hit less. Are you shooting from above, or same level?
Thanks for letting me pick your brain. Yet again.
I try to get level with them, or at least low enough to aim at them. I catch a few in my "Creatures That Don't Go To The Fish Farm" Video if you're looking for a visual example. And even have one of the ones with the bad hitbox. But yes it is on the false start that I aim to net them.
Although, I may have seen somebody 'steel net bomb' one? I was just thinking that's impossible, but no, it isn't, if your oxygen level is high enough; it's actually not a bad idea, especially if you don't want to take your net gun for the entire run...though aren't you 'interrupted' if hit? I seem to remember having to try laying sensor bombs a few times because I'd been hit by a fangtooth or some such. Perhaps I've imagined it. *shrugs*
:-)
so timing is key if you want to use the steel net mines.
Oh, shiz. Was it you that I saw on YouTube? I do remember it being someone really skilled, and they blasted through from the boat all the way to the Hydrothermal Vents with just a Steel Net Gun and the bombs...I was hoping to see them shoot the stargazers, but it was to show netting the Narwhal and killing the Dunkelosaur (shark). XD
Thanks for the confirmation. :-)
Oh, haha, my bad. Well, whoever owns the channel, they're a far, far better player than I. :-)
I did try a couple days ago, and lost both because I was too far away (outside the area it could hit me is also not close enough to trigger the bomb, haha...whoops). I'm going to try again though. Haven't gotten around to it yet; just about to start the Italian VIP thing at Banchos, but I will definitely need more stargazer, since at best, you only get three or four per dive. It's just that I played the restaurant so poorly, only a few dishes are worth time and effort (that being one) if I want to finish this playthrough. Can't wait to finally finish; learned a lot from the myriad mistakes of this one. So. MANY. mistakes. XD
I 100% believe you, man. I've just nearly killed myself trying the steel net bomb as many times as my oxygen would allow me getting hit (maxed, fyi)....it did not work for me. Definitely within its range, but it just kept hitting me, rather than set off the bomb...even when I would swim just out of range so it would still attack. It was definitely overlaid, so I dunno, unless I need to set it much closer, but I fail to see the difference if it's within its aggro reach?
I'm going to grab the steel net gun next dive and try, try again. XD
Thanks for sharing your method with me. I honestly thought the jumping crabs were going to be my problem; you can get all three in one go, without difficulty. XD

Ok, you can definitely see it overlay the bomb here! Is it just me?
