I am trying to unlock the old cave with Dr Bacon. Any hints?

You are going to have a bit more specific about what you're trying to do pet.
Maybe a screenshot.
Any chance you are talking about the scene where the archaeologist enters a cave with murals?
If so you need to open a door at the end of it with 3 glyphs. Look at the murals: there are 3 glyphs in red => use those to open the door.
