How to get 3 stars on sharks

Anyone know how to get 3 stars on sharks?

As far as I know, there is no way to kill/capture them with any weapons/nets/tranqs/traps. Only way to get one 3 star is in the fisher. kill enough of them, get enough roe, let them sit in the fishery and breed and 3 star ones will show up that you can harvest.

shark cannot be caught by netgun or dart. so you can't get 3 star shark

I was just wondering the same about crabs, even two stars with them, since u only get one star when u hit them with a rock.

My guess about big fish that you need to loot multiple times is that the mermaid blacksmith will make you a knife that can carve them better so you get 3 stars. No idea what they're gonna do about the stargazer or spider crab.

I think the secret lies in the name of the small net gun. If it was going to be the only one in the game, small is almost redundant. I imagine that we'll get medium and large net gun upgrades in the full game, with correspondingly smaller magazines, 2 for medium and 1 for the large. Would make sense with how many bullets it takes to kill the larger fish and sharks normally.

You can get 3 star fish by farming however this doesn't unlock their Marinca card. When attempting to collect a tranqed Giant Trevally it displays an icon indicating you're missing a submersible. This likely implies you'll gain access to a sub to haul large live catches in the future with which you can unlock their gold card.

My personal theory is you need a Submarine.

Since the game is about going deep in the ocean, we might get to a depth that a human can't dive in. At that point we may get a submarine built. with a submarine, we'd have enough physical space to capture live sharks.

The submarine doesn't exist yet and may not exist. However if you knock out a shark or large fish you can see Dave say he doesn't have this yellow thing. I think the yellow thing is a submarine.

If this is the case I believe the submarine may have attachments/weaponry that allows for capture of seafloor animals like the Crabs.

Seems about right to me, you can easily tranquilize them by upgrading the basic underground rifle to the tranquilizer version but it always displays the same submarine icon.

It's this - it happens on other fish too that are bigger, like the big green parrot fish looking ones.

You can technically knock out a shark with the hammer. I know I did it with the first shark, but the bigger ones... well it's super challenging.

The was posted before the 1.0 update, so the trouble has been solved via the update.

use a tranq sniper rifle to sleep them then use the recovery drone , some of the smaller ones might be catchable with the steel net trap from the shop which should appear when you are sent after Tuna
