Seaweed Day

is there any way to predict when the long seaweed day with the rare fish will show up? Is it a season or time of day or weather feature? I've only had it show up once after months of in-game play.

I would also really like to know this.

I've played for 38 hours, give or take (it does sit idle sometimes while I'm doing something else) and I've only seen the tall seaweed map ONE time. *One* time in over 30 hours of play.

Unfortunately, this isn't always true. It must depend on which particular story mission you're currently locked into pursuing, as some of those have specific maps.

I'm now on day 19 of a new play-through and it's rained on two separate days, yet I haven't seen the seaweed map.

Once you've finished the story missions, then perhaps rainy days are seaweed map days?

I'm actually going to add to this thread because this notion that you get the seaweed map on rainy days has been going around ever since the game launched into EA and I can now definitively say it's bunk.

In my current play-through I've had 5 rainy days and not seen the seaweed map on any of them.

I am now on day 25, full sun, and I just dove into the seaweed map.

So for once and for all, it has nothing to do with the bloody rain. Cheers.

for being such an important day to catch all the fish you never get to see, you'd think there'd be a way to trigger or predict it. possible to get a dev to weigh in?

I have a weird experience with this map. I don't see it for ages and then suddenly, 7 times in a row. Its a fun map with lots of unique fish to catch.

day 29 first dive found it. it only exists at the top 2 levels of the biome.

Agreed, I love that map. I could swim through the seaweed all day. And I'd also like to hear from the devs on this issue. Or any issue.

Wow I finally got this map at 21 hours. Is this map the only one that has the electric string ray?

As far as I know, yes, and I've played through the the whole game (as it stands as of today) twice. There are at least two other 'fish' on that map that are unique to that map (again, as far as I am aware, but I'm pretty sure), but I won't list them here as spoilers.

After seeing the seaweed map once, I have seen the electric sting ray on the other map from time to time rarely. No other unique fish that I can point out though

Yes, same here. I got it on the last day, only in the morning.
