How do you find the Ruby Seadragon?
I am way past the epilogue of the story, and have mined a total of 24 ruby veins in the thermal vents where I thought they showed up. I must be completely wrong where they show up.
It is the last thing in the game I need to do, and I want to fight the secret boss.

How do you find a Ruby Seadragon, where are they, and what am I not doing that makes them show up? Do you need something special to lure them out? Do you have to wait by the ore w/o mining it?

I am so frustrated and so at a loss here what to do. I spent over 2 hours yesterday trying to get one. Help me please!

No, you've got it: mine the ruby mineral veins. Wait for a few seconds afterwards, because they don't pop up immediately. Nothing else special. Their appearance rate is just that low. I think I've gotten a total of ~3-4 in my 150 hours.

What makes farming ruby ores so bad is having to go get the pickaxe first. I am SO sick of this loop.

Keep progressing the story until you get the option to upgrade the dive knife, then you can drop whatever you are holding and mine the deposit with a level 3 knife, no need to hunt for a pick axe.

It does come from Ruby Veins, they're just exceedingly rare. Upgrade the dive knife so it can mine the ore to save some time. But honestly it felt like I did something ridiculous like 50 ore veins mined before I saw one.

Upgrade your knife and you will not have too.

I'm just checking with everybody here, as after 60hrs in the game (finished, only 2 achievements left, all boss done), I could not yet find the ruby seadragon.

Considering that most of the time the ruby deposits spawn once per day, with good chances to have them in both day dives than not at all (check if you spawn a pot or a weapon crate at the start of the area), I have reached at the moment a ratio of 0 found against almost 30 deposits.

Thinking that maybe the spawn is locked behind a requirement I have:
- push all the seahorses rides to S level
- tried to mine with the knife (upgraded)
- tried to mine with the pick
- tried to mine with Thor' hammer
- tried to mine avoiding be set on fire
- tried to mine being set on fire
- tried to mine 2 hits, pause then another hit
- tried to mine 1 hit, pause, then another 2 hits
- tried to mine with a pause after each hit

Has anyone more suggestions to add, apart to try and repeat until the seahorse spawn?

Not sure if I am just lucky or something has changed, but about a week ago i found two out of 4 ores that I found and digged out during 20 dives

It took me 60 hours to find one. Just putting that out there.
