I've Eaten Hot Pepper Tuna
This was a while ago, but I ordered a Hot Pepper Tuna at Bridges on Granville Island in Vancouver, Canada. I don't know if they serve it anymore.

I thought Bridges claimed the dish was Japanese, but I think now at least there was an Asian influence. It was a seared tuna steak, so cooked on the outside raw on the inside (which is delicious). They served it on a Romaine lettuce leaf with wild rice and basic vegetables, and a bit of sesame oil.

The top of the tuna was coated with peppers. I'm not really used to heat in my food, so all I remember was eye-watering pain that turned my tongue into a lump of charcoal and how the peppers drilled into my gums and yanked on every tooth root nerve all at the same time. There was no flavour, just white-hot agony. I can't recall if I finished my plate, I kind of don't think so, but I do remember staggering out of the restaurant and when I got to a bathroom I pooped hot flux for a couple of days.

Thanks to DAVE, I'd like to try that again.
