If you are really struggling with money/grind, check the following:
1. Do you use auto cooking to not waste ingredients?
2. Do you send your staff gather cooking ingredients?
3. Do you focus on 2-4 recipes and upgrade those?
4. Is your fish farm set up correctly? (Capacity available, only producing, what you need..)
1. Auto cooking is not explained in the game and SHOULD be standard from the game!
2. since SEND STAFF was badly translated in my version I never clicked it till near the end of the game cause I thought I would fire them instead of sending them out to "find" some salt
3. at the start of the game you will make very good money with sharks only especially if you got the drone! a sleeping droned shark/bigFish will get you 27x meat. save this meat and upgrade it till its lvl 10 , from now on only sell this lvl 10 shark food with autocooking and you will be rich in no time!
very lategame you will get more expensive recipes ( only cucumber ) and also with low lvl ingridients like made out of the angry titan yellow fish 0-50m and the red and blue fish from 50-130m +rice will get you a meal with 9 plates each for 1300 gold!!! its only hard to get the rice for the upgrades takes some weeks!
I have honestly just become aware of several features, the fish farm/garden are both extremely new (just got my first rice harvest), etc. And those were mostly by reading this board, looking for answers to the festival conundrum, among other bits of perplexity. There really is a learning curve attached. Which I'm normally okay with; just feels like a stab to the heart after so carefully fishing/dumping/surviving for hours, then getting rammed by a new aggressor or straight-up running out of air by a mere second. Oof. Stings. XD
I do put one dish on auto: an enhanced mega-mouth (usually) sushi, because I always get the sharks from the Depths every dive. And it only takes more of itself to enhance, rather than precious salt or whatever else. I'll only lose one dish, as opposed to multiple.
Have just started this and am hiring more for this purpose.
I do have a stock of a few that I have enhanced; higher taste but not yet enough to go Platinum, as I can ill-afford that much enhancement. I seem to never get the jellyfish/sea-grape maps lately, which was my biggest seller monetarily. Unfortunately, it's single dish, and I don't have much salt at the moment. Since my best hope is around two dozen customers, I put up four multi-dish recipes, and one shark on auto, to minimise wastage and maximise income/taste. At least I try, haha.
No! It totally isn't. Thank you for this. :-)
This is extremely helpful; thank you SO much. Didn't know about the meat salvaged by the drone; just use it for the heaviest. I was at the end of my rope, honestly. Had to stop and post this and step away for several hours after running out of air by one tick, hahaha. Sailfish and hammerhead rammed me too many times; couldn't get out of the boat wreck quite fast enough. Occurs to me now that I might have been able to get out, get air, and then go back into the boat for the sailfish meat...oops. Just now starting that WHOLE dive over...
Dude...I can't wait. That will be so much less anxiety.
