Ranks dont matter much, just look at the stats of the seahorse and pick the ones with best stats. You can do only a few races a day per horse to try, they get tired after every race and stats go lower each attempt.
For the obsticle course, do the same, but also keep down pressed down when going below objects, and up hold down when need to jump over something. But also keep tapping the cheer at the same time.
So this goes against all ranking systems ever ? Rank 1 is always best in a sane ranking system. Weird.
Ascending or descending rankings are both common. All that matters is that the system is self-consistent.
You will unlock a new territory after a certain story progression, you will need sea horses from there to have chance at S rank races.
