What determines branch rank?

I have my branch manager up to level 10 or 11, and his four staff members up to level 8. The current rank of the place is 6 with two stars. What do I do to increase those stars? I want to give the branch some of the more expensive meals that I already cook at the main restaurant.

There are some guides that can help with branch management, but the tl;dr of it is that employees with good serving and cooking skills are generally better. The rank of fishes you can cook increases with cooking skill, and better serving skills impact the manager's performance. I think appeal might impact popularity but idk the game doesn't do a good job explaining things sometimes. Drae is considered the best manager due to his overall high stats in all categories.

Your manager will do what dave does, so you definitely want to level your manager first
