DAVE THE DIVER

DAVE THE DIVER

Προβολή στατιστικών:
Streamer/YouTubers with "Best Game 2023" Coincidence or...?
So, in early 2023, I saw Northernlion videos on YouTube, and one title was GOTY 2023, which I thought was just a meme. But last night, I saw somebody else's video on this game with the title "Best Game of 2023?" And when I opened the video, the guy said he's not actually calling it the best game of 2023 but it could be.

Did the devs pay these guys to actually say that? Because if so, that's pretty messed up.

I've already purchased the game, and I haven't played it. It does look really good, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

That said, I've never seen NL post something like "Best Game 2023" or "GOTY 2023" and it's a really weird coincidence that I saw it again.

Pretty much everyone that plays it says it's going to be the GOTY. It's just really good and unlike any other games

I'm such a disgusting human being to make such a wild, moronic accusation that the devs paid streamers and YouTubers to say that Dave The Diver is GOTY 2023. I'm so revolting. I should be embarrassed and locked away from society for my sins.

lol Jesus, you guys are too much. I just think it's weird how many video titles I've seen with GOTY 2023 regarding Dave The Diver. Perhaps it's all just clickbait and I'm crazy. Fine. I've been known to be wrong before, and I could 100% be wrong now.... but... it's still a little suspicious to me. lol

The devs don't have to do anything. I didn't say they did. I've just known devs to be in their own forums, and sometimes they do respond to questions. And they definitely have no problems locking threads that they don't want to keep seeing! lmao

Anyway, if the game is GOTY material, great! I made a great purchase... and I supported the devs when the game was in EA. So, whatever.

You, friend, have some issues.

The only person who has insulted you in any way is . . . you, as can be seen very clearly, by anyone who can read words in English.

Everyone else is just responding to your post in a logical, informed fashion. Good grief.

Exactly my point. Enough with this guy. Get him out of here.

I played it. It's pretty solid. It does the Far Cry thing of throwing everything and the kitchen sink at you. How many progression loops can we give the player? All of them.

It's just non-stop "Here's a thing to do" and "Here's another thing to do" and I'm sitting here like... "Can I relax for 5 seconds without some random person showing up? No? Okay, I guess I'll go grab those 5 shells or whatever for that random chick..."

GOTY material? I mean... games these days suck so yeah but I'm not even sure that's a compliment.
quite a far reaching conclusion. youtuber do it all the time , there is a decent or good games and they title it "best game in x genre" or " x could be the next goty".
are they getting paid by the game devs to do so? sure the possibility is not 0, but its far more likely to be clickbait to get them views to actually get paid by youtube ad monies.
It's absolutely the channel, not the dev. Everyone wants to be a content creator full-time, and wants some of that sweet, sweet Google money. You can always tell the CC type by the thumbnail/title...usually half or all CAPS!!!, and ridiculous, brightly-coloured, cartoon-y imagery overlaid into the posed thumbnail. It is what it is. Also sponsorship and ad revenue, are viable targets for creators. Then the ever-present ''like/comment/subscribe and do NOT forget to hit that notification bell'' and outright asking for ''50,000 likes'' (or whatever is feasible). It's the way Google overhauled their algorithm during the pandemic, when YouTube traffic was at a staggering high. It's made a bit of a farce out of being a ''creator'', unfortunately. It's the way of the world now, friend.

That being said, I've complained about the terrible parts of this game incessantly (mechanics, mainly)...aaaaand just yesterday, I've also said that it's the most addictive game I've played since a certain other game dropped, that Steam has 8,000+ (wtf?!!) hours logged for me (Terraria, if anyone cares), so yes. It is absolutely a contender for best game of 2023, by far. I'm going to re-write my review for the second time (went from an initial positive to a negative) once I've finally finished it. Because despite the flaws (that may be just limited to people with my specific issues), it is very much an immersive, hilarious, clever, touching (at times) experience, and like Terraria, they've put a lot of love and admiration for other sources into the game (and poked fun at others, with tongue firmly planted in cheek).

(And while I'm thinking about Terraria, I hope that MintRocket will be the developers that ReLogic have been: absolutely taking cues from the community, in which they are heavily involved, and adding tons of content without asking for anything in return. They know they've been blessed, and they are grateful. And they are beloved by their players. It's a beautiful thing, making a game infinitely replayable for many people. Not sure if Dave could do that, though...it's pretty linear and even forced in spots. But they could still add content). :-)

First, let me say thank you for writing this incredibly hilarious nonsense! And a second thank you for the dumpster fire of continued posting that has raged for 3 days now!

Pretending you're serious for a few seconds, the game is 97% with 40k Reviews after being out for a month. Combine that with you not playing it AND the premise here being that you're a Youtube Fanboy who got themselves upset with the assumption these guys actually paid for promotion because of a single coincidence?
I think its safe to say you can take down the Board with all the red string and pins now.

Again, if you're seriously this concerned about getting your gaming opinions fed to you by specific channels instead of playing the game yourself, one helpful hint is that if they say "GOTY" and you see 50-60% Positive Reviews, THAT is more likely a red flag. Or if the Publisher is Ubisoft or EA.

No problem, bro. Anything for the homies.

Yeah listen you are on youtube its in your profile. You have a whopping 34 subscribers and over 205 videos so... I would like you think you already know about youtube but based on your sub numbers you don't. Take some time looking up how to get viewers and the algorithm that is used by google/youtube and even look up some SEO (search engine optimization) skills and you'll understand why people post titles like "GOTY 2023" and "Best game ever?!!?" "One trick to..." etc. Its not rocket science. If your curious about whether something was paid for by the devs look up the platforms stance on paid ads and normally you'll see they have to disclose sponsorships (depends on the platform) or as twitch calls them "bounties" normally with a #ad.

TLDR? - They are doing it for clicks and because SEO and keywords are a thing that works on youtube for people looking for certain types of videos. Additionally if one large channel does a video title/subject you will notice that smaller channels attempt to duplicate that title hoping that youtube will recommend their video next.
Well with a lot of the bigger games coming out as glitched filled, half finished disappointments, I would say the bar has been set pretty low for what a game needs to be to make game of the year these days.

Bro, I make those YouTube videos for me, not for other people. It was to show my journey from being a complete and absolute scrub to becoming a slightly lesser scrub in Street Fighter. Also, I use those videos to ask questions because when you ask a question about a fighting game, people always respond with, "I can't answer that without seeing what you're talking about."

Also, I really appreciate those 34 people who want to watch my boring ass gameplay, even if they don't watch it. I don't even watch my own videos unless I'm studying my own play. And some of those people are genuinely cool people who have given me the best advice, told me the coolest stories about their climb (one claimed to place at EVO in Third Strike), and a few have added me on Discord to play. So, you can go **** yourself trying to bring my videos into this as if it matters.

I don't typically get mad at people, but honestly you are genuinely a piece of **** for bringing up my subscribers who didn't ever have to watch 1 second of my videos. And yeah, I might suck at Street Fighter, but I'm so grateful to those people for wanting to help me learn fundamentals.

If you're trying to actually bring out anger, job well done. **** you, and that's the last I'll say about it.

You asked if a dev "paid" content creators to adverstise their game and I told you they didn't and then gave you tips to educate yourself so you wouldn't appear as a troll who is trolling for joker/clown points and you got mad so I guess ok bro you do you. This is a troll post at this point and if your getting angry over that then maybe you need to take a minute and look at yourself and why that is because nothing I said should have caused that reaction. Anyways have a great day/night.
