Crab roe?

Can you get roe from Sally Lightfoot or Spider crabs, or do they have to be hunted manually every time?

Yeah, these can't be farmed. Kinda problem. Hopefully all the crab related foods grant way more uses or are cheaper than other recipes to compensate.

Yeah crabs are hardest to get, and dont make money they should. I think the crab related foods should be like bonus tier in how expensive and good they are. IRL, those Snow/Emperor crabs are really expensive too, dish courses costs over 100-150 USD in Japan. They are the most expensive sushi/sashimi after pufferfish IRL.

I wish you could farm crabs, but looking at the fish farm, it doesn't appear to have a bottom area where crabs would be comfortable. Maybe they'll add one in a future update.

So I understand correctly - in the game at the moment you can't catch crabs for 3 stars?

No, you can still get 3-star catches. You need a later game item called the steel net gun. Or you could use a steel net trap item from Cobra's shop.

You can farm crabs once you have the steel net gun. You have to capture live crabs in order to farm them.
