Question about progress

So I just started playing Dave the Diver. Played it now just over 2 hours and I am on chapter 1 still I think

My questions are this;
1) How does progress work on the game if I ignore the main quest and say keep going out to only do side quests and only focus on getting fish for sushi will I just farm money this way without progressing the campaign? Only completing the main quest will move me along right?

2) Anyone here finish the campaign already? What happens at the end can you keep playing endlessly after the end or does the game end and you have to start a new game from scratch?

Yeah main story only progress when you finish main quest, but a lot of side content & quest are tied with main quest, so you will miss a lot if you want to focus on getting fish for sushi & side quest.
You can keep playing after ending, free roaming in the sea and do whatever you want.

When you say you will miss a lot, do you mean if you progress through the main quest too fast?

No, there are new content unlocked by progressing main story & VIP quests, if you don't mind small spoiler, here are something you'll unlocked, farm, fish farm, night dive, card collection, gun upgrade, special fish, fish boss side mission, that kind of thing, there are more new things as you progress.

Ah I get what you mean so I shouldn't stall the progress too much as I'll unlock stuff that will help me a lot by continuing the campaign

Story unlocks important gameplay, but you can always ignore the next quest and just go fishing. After the story is concluded you can just fish and cook and collect as you like.

Going too slow can make some events trickier later. Faster is generally easier because you will be strong enough and rich enough to deal with what they throw at you.
