The kronosaurus fight feels bad
I just managed to beat it but it's a very bad feeling fight. It's so incredibly large that it is extremely difficult to actually avoid it and if it hits you and you try to get away from it being swimming towards where its tail was it turns around and because its size is so big it turns around faster than you can swim, guaranteeing at least a second hit and probably a third because you're right in front of it.

That aside the fire breath being an instant kill is also very unfun, especially since the only way to evade it (that I have seen) is to haul ass and swim above and behind it. I tried several times to swim as far away from it as I could to avoid it and visually the fire did not reach me but I still died. To make the breath feel more fair there should be rocks or something you can hide behind on the ground so there's not just one single option for it.

Every other boss I've fought so far felt balanced, the only other one I had some trouble with was the mantis shrimp because it wasn't fully clear to me what to do but even that was only one or two deaths.

The Kronosaurus is the reason I stopped playing this game. I see videos and read people's comments about 2-3 runs to defeat this boss. Even after 60 times I didn't manage to win this one. It's absolutely a fun-killer. Too bad.

I beat it fairly easily with the two rocket launchers (one shot each) and about 9-10 shots of a lvl 1 grenade launcher that was in the weapon chest (I dived in with steel net gun).
The safe spot when it breathes fire is to be close to it and above.
The rest of the time, just keep your distance and you'll have time to dodge.

Personally, I hated all bosses from chapter 6 onwards. They're just not fun. If i wanted to play dark souls, I would've played dark souls. And even then, dark souls is fairer because your character doesn't move like a snail. Also this wonderful little thing called iframes.

Klaus, Kronosaurus, and that stupid Narwhal during the baby manatee rescue are all ♥♥♥♥ designs. I play this game to relax, fish, and solve puzzles. Not to restart over and over again because I got hit by an unavoidable attack.

ı was at max oxygen so tanked the whole thing while attacking endlessly. nonetheless bad design.

Dunnoh. I had no problems with any of the bosses. Except Klaus the Great White was hard at first. Is Kronosaur the one at the bottom near the end? I think I won him on 1st try. I am not even trying to brag, but I didnt find this game hard, at all.

Honestly found the boss fights on par with dark souls bosses in terms of difficulty, with the bonus of being able to restart the fight when you die removing some of the frustration.

The later ones can be extremely tough/frustrating if you're not carrying extra oxygen tanks when you go in, having to repeat them several times to learn attack patterns and compensate for how sluggish Dave is. Agile he is not.

I know this isn't really the point (see above) but you can capture Narwhal's with a max upgraded netgun (and any other medium sized sharks like sawtooth).

This is indeed an awful bossfight and a funkiller hands down. I can deal with everything but that unavoidable bs fire attack which covers the whole damn arena. This reminds of the stupidly unfair aoe attacks of some bosses in Elden Ring.

Yeah the biggest issue with that is that there is only one solution to it, which is to be above it. Getting far enough away isn't an option

Bring a sniper that is as upgraded as possible and laugh as all bosses that allow you to use it turn into a joke.

My first try with this boss, I nearly rage quit due to the fact, that this one came without warning and after a quite long puzzle maze advetnuire. The tactic is to not examine the area right away but to resurface first, prepare and do it then.

I was actually so prepared that thing died so quick that I was really astonished. I basically upgraded the sniper rifle to the death ray thingy which has a 92 damage. I found a weapon upgrade on the way down making it 112 per shot. There are 5 shots and 2 weapon recharges in the area for 15 shots and that thing died after 10 .... I haven't even used the rocket launcher ....

Using sniper rifels make most of the bosses really easy so this is the way to go for casual players

That´s the thing which annoyed me the most. I was thrown into this fight with an ice gun which I wanted to bring to the surface for researching which made the fight impossible. If I had known this I would have brought my sniper rifle and kicked his ass.

pretty sure you don't need to bring them to the surface, just pick them up. That's what I did and they still got unlocked for me even though I always carried a tranq or net gun

I don't know if you skip dialogue but the game is letting you know that a boss fight is ahead, it never just throws you into a boss fight and if you just rush into every fight without preparing, or if the thoughts "Should i upgrade my stuff before i take the fight?" or "Should i open some containers before the fight?" or "Maybe cobra sells something that help me in the fight" never crosses ur mind then it is absolutly not the games fault that you have trouble with a boss fights, and then again it's totally okay to struggle with boss fights in the end they are called bosses for a reason, learn adapt overcome. :D

Tell me where they warn you that you're about to fight Krono, because I just finished that whole ordeal and it came upon me with no warning whatsoever.

I went through the last switch cave with Suwam; got a boss fight at the end of it, which I expected. Then after the switch was hit, I went to the door at the bottom of the thermal pit expecting to see it open and get an opportunity to go back up before going beyond the door. At no point did the game warn me that I needed to be prepared for the one and a half boss fights that happened as soon as I got close enough to that door. In fact, Suwam seemed to make it pretty urgent that I get to that door.

In other times when I've worked with him, he's usually stood by the doors and waited for me to signal him when I was ready. I thought this might be yet another time when I'd see a minor cut scene, then get to go back up top to recuperate. Instead, I found myself rolling from one boss fight to another, and then to another in rapid succession without any warning at all. Frankly, I found it really unreasonable that this happened the way it did.

Granted, I have managed to beat Krono. It took many deaths, but I did it. But I would have really liked some kind of warning before going down to the door. I had so much stuff on me that I didn't want to give up and lose it all, but as the OP said, it didn't feel good having to go through that fight. For me, it was the circumstances that lead to it. I felt forced into the confrontation, and for a game that's otherwise casual, a head's up would have helped me a lot here.

Absolutely this, so frustrated that no kind of warning came up, lost a ton of ♥♥♥♥ because of this. if i knew it was a boss fight coming up (after doing a long quest and other boss fight already) i would have prepared, this just came out of the blue compared to the rest of the game so far.
