[Resolved, Please Lock] Is this going to be Steam exclusive?
I can't even buy it on HumbleBundle. Does anybody know about any other legit sources?
Not interested in ♥♥♥ or torrents. Although...

He just wants to buy the game somewhere other than on steam...

I only found the game on steam. No alternative.

HumbleBundle in the end are just steam keys. so if you want to buy a steam key. there are multiple keyseller sites like instantgaming or kinguin. Or just go to keysforsteam. but you never know how legit the keys are on those sites.

I think games on console are more difficult to update, so a lot of companies hold off on console until the game is at a point where it's more completely done.

I don't mind playing through Steam, I only need to buy legit key elsewhere. But it is steam-store exclusive after all.
It was really puzzling for me when people attacked epics for exclusivity for just a year, while Steam holds on exclusives forever.

Is it a 'Steam Exclusive', or have the developers just only released it on steam?
I'm pretty sure Steam doesn't do exclusivity deals, if they want to sell elsewhere there's nothing stopping them.

I would be surprised if it's not released on other platforms soon, all the menu controls already feel a little like console ports.

why do you need humble bundle, it would be around the same price.

In that case, as Private117 said, there are half a dozen sites like Humble that sell Steam keys. Any search engine should be able to find all of them for you.

This might be free or stolen keys, developers won't get money. I might just as well use torrents for the same result.
It's like "we only take discover card" situation. Torrent version will not require steam running at least, but that's a different story.

It is either a dumb oversight, an exclusivity deal, or developers are afraid of backlash for releasing on other storefronts... My hopes it is the first, but it quacks and walks suspiciously like the second.

Epic PAYS devs to only release on Epic. Steam does not do this. If a game is only on Steam then it is because the devs made their own choice to only release on Steam.

Pretty big difference between a company that pays studios to keep their games in a specific store vs a company that gives tiny dev studios a chance to compete with companies that are valued at seven figures pumping out "AAA" titles
Steam EA was essentially the birth of indie games making it to the hands of the masses

It's not going to be Steam Exclusive, I hear it's coming out on Nintendo Switch.

Too much righteous zeal I read in the subtext. From end-user perspective it really doesn't matter who pays whom - the reality is, so far, if I ever want to play this game on Windows, I have no options other then buy it on Steam. That's pretty "exclusive" deal.
Since no devs ever responded, I have to assume that is the case, forever and ever. With Epics you at least clearly know the terms.

Thank you all for your input! Especially, to Apoli, for understanding my issue exactly.

You're out of your damn mind. Way to twist things into whatever shape serves you best and totally ignore the critical facts right in front of your face.

Steam has nothing to do with this. The matter is purely in the devs hands.
