Adware?
Everytime I launch the game I get a lamps plus ad and a wayfare ad and then the boss music starts playing. I've tried reinstalling and it didn't do anything. Free fixer shows no suspicious software. Am I going insane?

steam has added a bug in one of its latest updates that it opens the games storepage in a browser when opening games, and thats starts the trailers for the game ofc with ads.
Its pretty random, but seen multiple posts of this in different game forums.

It literally says "owns DAVE THE DIVER" next to his name on this thread, like with all of us.
And I'm pretty sure steam doesn't register cracked games.

Almost sounds as though you didn't get the game on steam but have come here to ask why a possibly cracked copy is behaving oddly for you. If its a pirated version you have most likely downloaded a virus and/or malware along with the game. Steam versions of this game do not do this. I'd recommend you scan your computer using software like Malware Byes and /or install a reputable virus scanner. Good luck.

I used free fixer and the AV one mentioned before which were both recommended to me, I don't pirate games, especially not indie ones.

No I paid for it, obviously you're not gonna believe me but I have the receipt.
Then it isn't this game but something else on your system.

Mintrocket is a subsidiary indie game company of Nexon. Nexon is a big game developer company. So you cant really say that Mintrocket is a small indie company when its funded and operated by Nexon.

Ok well then if its from steam... My first suggestion would be to check your event viewer and see if there are any events that might suggest a driver conflict or an error on your system. Its not a normal thing to be happening obviously. Failing that I'd recommend trying to update your sound drivers manually by uninstalling your sound driver (after downloading a new driver from the manufacturers website) and reinstalling it using that.

I'm using the browser version, as well as the desktop app. It works in both, no beta no mobile.
Just hover over the little mouse icon next to your or his name

So I discovered that it plays ads and game audio everywhere except the restaurant after playing for a little bit. I think something shady is in the games files because I've been doing background scans over and over.

At least one issue solved now

It is not this game, it is something else on your system. You are pointing your finger in the wrong direction.

I second that. Only weird thing is that its only this game. Are you completely sure its only this game?
Just restart your system, try running windows defender or more reliable AV on your PC and check the whole system.

Yeah, I launched Dragon's Dogma and the Batman games I got on sale and nothing. Even after restarting and checking my system. The ads and noises seem to stop after a while.

This game doesn't have "Adware" in it. I don't think Steam even allows that kind of... Wait never mind I'll shut up on that idea. Anyways. There's a pretty good chance you picked up a bug from a random download or visited a bad website at some point without knowing.
