Max Hush Gun Super Under Powered

So I am just complaining here but I feel like the Hush Gun (Maxed Out) is way under powered. I know I can use it on practically all small game (Tiger Fish, Trigger Fish, Barracuda) but when it gets to medium to huge fish it does nothing. I remember before the launch I had a level 2 hush gun and knocked out a Black Tip Shark but now after the launch with it maxed out it does nothing against them. I tried it against multiple other species from medium (Blue Tuna) to Huge (Whale Shark) to try and get better quality fish but it just doesn't work. I know we have the new retrieval method but you only get 1 charge and it's very expensive to upgrade it to another charge. Where as with the hush gun all you have to do is find more ammo. It's practically useless now unless you want to get a bunch of the low level fish which is pretty retrievable using the net gun.

The max hush gun requires 2 darts to put big stuff to sleep. You can then use drones to get 3-star sharks. My hush gun has 7 shots and its enough for 3 huge creatures.

You need to keep progressing in the game to unlock more powerful weapon upgrades as you advance.

I tried multiple into a Whale Shark and it seemed like it did nothing. I can try it again.

In the upgrade menu I see two levels for it from the base. Is there additional further into the game?

Yes. At some point you get a new set of unlocks for your upgrades, for all weapons. I forget exact area but I want to say it's sometime near glacier area. (After the passage)

you're supposed to fire the second hush dart while the first one is still active.

Yeah, fire 2 quickly to sleep sharks when using the max one.

The final upgrade for the hush gun is called modified hush dart. You need to progress through the story more to unlock the blacksmith that sells you 1 of the parts to upgrade it.

The maximum level hush gun can knock out sharks. However from the sounds of it yours is only level 2. Duff unlocks more upgrades later.

I too was confused by this as in Early Access the Hush dart and Net gun were both more powerful but had since been nerfed, and needing another upgrade to become useful again.
