Horned parrotfish not appearing checked off

Hi everyone, so I have tried capturing the horned parrotfish three times. I have successfully killed it three times, once with sniper rifle, once with posion harpoon and another with melee. I see the fish shrivel and die, but then it disappears and i cannot harvest.

In the FishMon to-do task bar, it does not show it as checked off. Is this a bug?

The quest says to catch it without killing it.

You don't need to kill him, but you do need to damage him until you knock him out.

Stupid question but how to capture it tho? Netbomb was useless.. net launcher too. Tranq darts at the butt also no effect.

When you smack it once from behind with a harpoon, you should get a prompt saying something like "ok it's knocked out, now you can capture it".

Maybe your sniper did too much damage idk.

for this type of hunting, just use the harpoon. the fish will only be stunned and will not die. it is a bit confusing that he specifically says to only stun them.

THANK YOU. After an hour trying to catch this with the Steel Net Trap and the most upgraded hush dart, I finally did it using nothing but the plain harpoon. Without your comment I would not have thought to do this, as the quest clearly states NOT to kill the fish.
Worst quest design ever?
