Absolutely agreed, even more so when you got a mako or thresher shark with them...

Edit: My first encounter with the catfish was in between them a sheephead on top and a thresher opposite the catfish, was running away from a sawshark (which was still chasing)... Lost a lot on that dive...

You can just use your knife on the catfish and take out a bunch of them at once.

I really dislike the marlin and sailfish.

I think they wanted another use for the upgraded net gun besides crabs. I didn't mind fighting them once. There are quite a few options to deal with them but I didn't have any so I messed around with harpoon gun for what felt like 10 minutes.

Mjolnir would absolutely wreck them, any bomb item can do well. Grenade launcher probably also an option. Also lightning harpoon tip would be amazing.

Ran into them the first time with a net gun and sleepy toy hammer, netted a bunch but couldn't collect because of all the rest of them that relentlessly chased me.
Definitely the worst I've encountered, but I hear a lot of people complain about the Mako shark, not gotten there yet.

For me the worst part of the Mako is that if you have a net gun, you're effectively done for. The Mako is very aggressive, very fast, and, very tanky, there is no escape, you need to deal with it with the Harpoon at that point, however it basically hugs you and mauls you to death.

I end up just taking the tranq axl gun. It handles all of the sharks and you either capture them or just swim away once they are asleep. I only ever saw the mako twice and both times I had that gun and didnt even know it was hard otherwise hehe

About that catfish swarm. Im close to the end of the story and never saw them til yesterday. I didnt know what they did or how many there would be. I had the netgun, but trying to stop to pick them up and then turn to fire a 2nd time was... interesting hehe. I needed the Benny Hill theme for that mess.

Pretty neat though, unlike when you get smashed hard by a shark. The death by a thousand cuts was a nice change of pace.

For me the damn controls are the hardest fight. You press rmb and left but still not shooting. Or it shoots but the hitboxes are so annoyingly broken (why the hell do we only have an specific arc to beginn with) that the harpoon goes throigh the fish but still acts as not hit. Yet the fish can hit you even without hitting you.
