SOLVED: Cannot remove crowbar from rocks

I've tried completing this request a few times, after killing the three crabs, I can grab onto the crowbar with the RT button, however the minigame never comes up to remove the bar from the rocks. If I use up my oxygen, the game says it did not save due to an error. I've restarted the computer and validated the game files but that doesn't change anything.

Takes a bit, I had to slowly move the left stick around a bit until it worked. Took a moment though.

I tried pulling on it for several minutes with both joysticks, no luck :(

I actually just finished this mission not long ago. I had the same problem and thought id have to restart the game. But I just kept the joystick and R2 button held while pulling away and eventually started to work.

You're right, I just tried yet again and if you hold long enough in only one direction it finally works.. Thanks for confirming.

Keep slowly rotating the joystick and watch dave, as you aproach the right direction he moves his legs quicker and quicker until the minigame pops up.
Or maybe it was just that it takes an absurd amount of time pulling.
Whatever the reason it should work.

Same problem here, thanks to this thread I didn't reset the game, that would've been frustrating.
