Queen Clione death loop.
I'm stuck in a loop with this boss, with no chance to upgrade before you get captured or escape the boss arena.
The room is too small for the fight compared to the size, speed and hit box the Queen Clione has on you, even after you've fired off all your ammo, the second you try to open the air clam, weapon box or pick up the extra ammo it dives on you leaving no space or time to move.
Please fix this devs!

Same. Incredibly frustrated by getting yanked into this fight after completing an innocuous quest. I had zero issues with the other boss fights, which had ample weapons and O2 available. This fight has one of each... not that I think more would matter given that I had no movement charms equipped prior to this because of what I was doing. Without them it seems almost impossible to move fast enough to open the resources without getting hit.

Same here, no fun at all. Even after the death animation the clione queen just continues attacking. Force quit, not getting into that again. Loved everything else about the game so far. Just a bit afraid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like this will happen again.

upgrade your default rifle and it gonna be a 5-6 shot battle in 2 phases. WolfEel was much harder to me

how about you just try and load an earlier autosave, and prepare yourself better now that you know there's this boss that snags you as soon as you snag the fifth clione for the quest? hmmm?

Wolf eel is a piece of cake. Hang from the anchors, swim to bottom left, dodge the 3D attack, go back to bottom left to avoid when it swims through the hall, shoot the weak point, repeat. Easy to avoid being hit at all.
Clione Queen is fast and relentless, hard to avoid, doesn't give you a break.
Worse still is the Mantis Shrimp, which has a tiny opening window when it can be hurt, and WILL hit you afterwards, unavoidable lunge.

I quit the game and will not recommend because of this broken, forced encounter.

I felt the same and then decided to git gud.
It was done in 4 tries, the moves are extremely choreographed so they're easy af to avoid.
You shouldn't even need the extras on the floor tbh

Same. i focused on fishing so i have not upgraded guns a lot, and got into this fight with a net gun..., i do so little dmg i cant afford to loose any oxygen. Died around 20 times now, but think i getting the hang on it now. I love the game, but no way i hell they are getting my vote for "Sit back and relax"

You've got weapons, items and charms to play around. It's far enough to deal with bosses. If you didn't craft and upgrade your weapons that's on you for not using game mechanics.

It's kind of the first boss that requires the player to have understood one important lesson: Observe the patterns, and only attack when you're sure that you're save instead of taking risks and being hit while trying to squeeze in some extra damage.

And this does include putting yourself into a bad spot mid-term by not factoring in the bosses movement abilities - if you feel you could not avoid getting hit in this fight, you likely made a bad decision 2-3 seconds ago.

As long as you're careful not to get hit, the weapons crate at the bottom and the harpoon should be more than enough to beat the boss even when lacking in upgrades.

/edit: The way the boss is encountered with no warning is pretty annoying though.

i always keep a scootypuff with me for this reason.

Bit of a thread necro, n'est ce pas? Even so, I agree with all of the above: it's a tough battle and you're ambushed into it. The Queen's attacks are much more lethal at the bottom of the room than at the top. Stick to the top, and her attacks won't to a lot of damage. You can plink away at her even with just a harpoon and wear her down if you are patient. Likely, you may have to make a quick plunge for air and the weapon crate, but you can time those so that you go down and up as quickly as possible.
With no foreshadowing, I thought I was about to take another stupid photo. Grabbed the last fish, forced into a boss encounter with a dart gun (0 damage), no oxygen tanks, no speeders, all the wrong bracelets. Got wrecked like 15 times. It's basically a one hit boss as once hit you can't get distance from it.

On the times I've got to the weapon crate and air clam (rarely) I've run out of ammo before being able to conclude the fight.

I literally wouldn't mind my predicament at all, expect you can't exit the fight without with loading a previous save aka losing all your progress.

For such a stupid oversight by the devs, I can't recommend this game. Not sure I'll play it again as tired of the deathloop I'm now stuck in. CBA to go collect sea horses again etc...
