What's the use of fully upgrade net-gun and hush dart?

The fully upgraded net-gun can't catch tuna or any bigger fish
Fully upgraded hush dart gun can't make any bigger fish sleep either
What are the purpose of these guns?
And how can I catch big fish without damaging them?

they literally can though...unless you're talking about the upgrade before you get the sea people village enhancement items. the fully upgraded dart gun can sleep large fish including sharks with two quick succession shots. and the steel net gun can capture crabs and other mid sized fish like tuna

So the enhanced hush dart II upgrade from Duff isn't the final upgrade? I just unlocked the sea people village and saw they had a forge, but I can't use their services yet. Does the forge enhance the weapons further?

Correct, there is a final upgrade that you unlock later after a bunch of Sea People stuff.

To catch large fish w/o dmging them req you to get the drone first. You get it during the tuna event. After fully upgrading, you get 3 uses per dive so choose wisely.

Had no idea the Sea People had enhancement, I assumed Duff's were the only place to upgrade weapon. Thanks.

Fully upgraded (Steel variant) net gun is the only means to catch 3 star crabs and Stargazer.
It can also be more efficient in tuna hunting because you can trap multiple tuna in a single net (which then only consumes 1 drone usage). My personal record so far is 3 tuna in 1 net.

FYI you get 3 different cuts of meat from tuna (both blue fin and yellow fin) and the most expensive cut (Ootrou - roughly translated as Fatty Belly cut) is only obtainable from 3 star catch.

Also, it can trap (AFAIK) all medium sized fish (including Whitetip shark, Sawtooth Shark, Marlin and Sailfish), rendering them defenseless for cutting them up (net disappears when they die)

It doesn't work on large fish, however (Thresher is considered a large fish, probably because of its oversized tail fin) so it is pretty much useless against them.
