Marinca Fish Number 111 its the last fish im missing help

Anyone know what fish it is and where I can find it?

It's called Atlantic Bonito, medium depth in Blue Hole so about 50-130m. It's just a normal fish, looks similar to the Atlantic Mackeral and they'll usually travel in small groups or 2 or 3.

I have played nearly 30 hrs, but still no luck encountering Bonito, is this some type of bug? I have gone on all possible weather and time period.

weird ive never seen it and im working through chapter 7 currently

Ive finished the game and still cant find them and i need them for the curry dish for the curry party :(

To no surprise some types of fish not spawning in the save file is a bug they seem to have not yet fixed. On very rare occasions they may spawn in the dive as intended but normally don't. I have no idea if the devs are currently making patches on this, but hopefully they are. I'm also having this problem with the Atlantic bonito and ornate wrasses. They have spawned in one dive since the +20 hours I have played since the full realse.

As far as I am aware, certain fish are known to rng spawn.

A work around is to scum save since the game only saves the file when you do anything above water, surface, "accept" your drowning, or enter the village. So just dive down and head towards its depth range. If none, force close and reload.

I'm also missing the Atlantic Bonito but I got through the curry party using the Green Parrotfish curry dish and the Roasted Capelin (Level up recipe from Drae).

it is the Atlantic Bonito, i catch it frequently using the net gun 50-130, typically towards the lower end of the Medium Depth

yeah seems like it might be a bug for some of us it just refuses to be found by some people sadly

Bonito is super weird, it sometimes just disappears for a while.
No idea if fish can be saisonal or something. It did show up after one or two ingame weeks (again? idk. Wasnt there for the first curry event but found lots of it later on (it looks like that atlantic makerel, only slimmer and with less fins. Usually in groups of 2-3 around the depth where the sawtooth shark is (inside the ship wreck I also found a group) .

Thanks appreaciate the info maybe ive just been unlucky the whole game so far and yeah the curry event is coming up and still dont have it though to be fair dont have all the recipes researched anyhow. ill check around that level more and in the ship wreck. only two things im missing is it and the ruby seashorse i just havent been lucky yet getting it to spawn lol

No, but the fish is VERY unspecial when it comes to it's looks. And their numbers are quite low, normally there is (not always) a pair of them lurking around at the height of the sunken ship (below the salt caves). They are pretty slim fishes with normal lenght and a silvern color. Easy to miss, when you don't know how they look like because they look similiar to the atlantic makarel (IIRC) but not so fat.
