Baby Whale picture !!!

I missed the first chance of taking that picture and now, after endgame, it seems the location does not spawn again. Anyone has the same problem?

Good news guys! Just confirmed that endgame does not affect this and you can still get the whale photo after finished the whole main story. And Yes, it DOES require a specific biome: the one which has Sea Goldie, an open left side with some coral reef, and the whale baby is at the upper right corner.

Can confirm, post chapter 6 that I was able to find the whale picture, a small cutscene will happen to let you know you can take a picture

I did it!!! I finished the game a few days ago, and finally I have the photograph of the baby whale.

I missed the First Photo Option and completed the Main Game BUT iI geht another Chance to Take a picture :)

It only appears on a certain map. You need to keep diving till you get lucky and get that map.

You can attempt this after beating the game, yes.

I finished the game, I’m in the Epilogue chapter, and I had missed the photo before, but it still appeared and I got it. So no, the end of the game doesn’t lock the appearance of the whale and its baby for the picture :)

If you encounter the photo opportunity but you fail to capture it, you can try again without ending your dive!

Reload the area by entering and leaving a cave/shipwreck then return to the photo op area to retrigger the event.

If you’re determined to get this photo, this is far faster than finding it on another dive because the event is dependent on the randomly generated map of the dive (the map can be locked due to mission progression too).

Hi, I just took the picture of the humpback whales AFTER reaching the endgame. Just like the comments above said - it's to the far right of the map, around 10-12 m deep. As for the layout type I found them in, on the left side after I dived there's a big open space and drop down, no floor there.

Confirming it spawns after endgame. I found it in the ornate wrasse/longfin batfish/sea Goldie biome.

During the same diving session the humpback whale appears again after a while in the same place, do other things in the meantime and go through the area from time to time until it appears again for the photo.

It's called RNG. You need the luck to be in the layout that makes the whales spawn, and make it your toppest priority if this happens.
