Boss dishes don't count for party?

Saved up all my boss meats hoping to have a party line up and reap extra rewards. I just had the shrimp party pop but the Mantis Shrimp dish doesn't qualify. Is this also true for the other boss meats? Is there a best way to use these dishes instead?

I'd honestly recommend just using them ASAP.

You can save them up for events, like a lot of the shark bosses work for the Shark event, but Enhancing other recipes will net you more money than the Boss recipes once you get to mid-late game. (Deep Sea Tempura for example sells for a lot more when enhanced than any boss dish and it is also considered a Shark dish)

When there's a party, all of the dishes that count toward that party will all have an icon on it that looks like a pink hourglass. You have three days to harvest stuff for those dishes, improve those dishes, or research those dishes.

To my knowledge none of the boss dishes count for parties. The boss dishes are their own thing, their own one-time super bonus that isn't impacted by anything else, can't be improved, etc.

true, but the goblin shark counts as a dish on the shark event, as mentioned above.
maybe some dishes work while others don't just yet.

As well as you boss shark you mentioned Goblin Shark , also the Heliocorpion and the Great White Shark count towards shark party.
