Where does the Shortfin Mako shark spawn?

I have seen it maybe once, and never since. Is it locked behind a specific weather, region, time of day, or is it just a pure RNG based spawn?

Once you get the Shark event it starts spawning.

I've gotten it to spawn at least once before, but only before I could 3 star large fish. Now its the last one I need to 3 star, and I cant get it to spawn.

after shark event, they usually spawn in right side of the map,

For me it was stormy weather in the day time at the very top of the ocean at the far right.... I've yet been successful killing him, really fast shark and will chase further than all the others I've faced. In storms (not rain, storms) just swim far right at the top and once you're at the end head down a little and explore the top far right of the map.

I finally found it after a week, mine spawned during the shark event, one time during a stormy afternoon, far right second level of the seaweed map, the other time stormy morning, normal map in the middle around 35m deep. Hope this helps.
I am at the end game, just dealing with sad RNG, so my hunt was more like cheating... I used the Death Rifle to take it out with one shot.
50 Hours in still not finding the Ice Gun .

Stormy weather, blocked by progression. CAN spawn before Storm Shark Party (rarely), but Storm Shark Party sets weather to rain 3 days in a row.

Does not have a Dish recipe.

Zebra Sharks are also Stormy Weather I believe.
